Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure a large frictional force, by forming bearings on the front and rear surfaces of each segment having a substantially ladder shape, and connecting each segment with the adjacent segment by means of a common rotating pin. CONSTITUTION:A segment 1 is a plate-like member having a substantially ladder shape on its front and rear sides. A bottom side 9 of the ladder shape is shorter than a top side 8, and the latter is thicker than the former. The segment 1 is formed at its upper end portion with a front bearing 2 at the central portion and with a pair of rear bearings 3a and 3b at the both end portions. A bearing 2' of an adjacent segment 1' is engaged with a recess 4 defined between the bearings 3a and 3b of the segment 1, and a pin 7 is inserted through the bearings 3a, 3b and 2', thereby connecting both the segments 1 and 1'.

Conventional technology and its problems When the V-belt used in continuously variable transmissions is hung over a pulley with a 7-shaped groove, frictional force is applied not only in the circumferential direction of the pulley but also in the diametrical direction. It needs to be made much stronger. For this reason, V-belts in which the main constituent parts are made of metal are becoming popular, but it is still rare to see a V-belt in which all parts are made of metal. Therefore,
The emergence of a robust V-belt that can withstand the harsh conditions of continuously variable transmissions and is suitable for long-term use is eagerly awaited.

Referring to FIG. 1, a trapezoidal segment 1 constituting the V-belt of the present invention is shown. In the following description, the first
The right surface of segment 1 in the figure will be referred to as the front side, and the opposite surface will be referred to as the back side. As shown in Figure 4'' + 4b, the segment 1 is a plate-like body that has a substantially trapezoidal shape on both the front and back sides, and the bottom side 9 of the trapezoid shape is shorter than the top side 8.
As shown in the figure, the top side 8 has a greater thickness than the bottom side 9, and the thickness gradually decreases from the top side 8 toward the bottom side 9. Segment 1 can also be thought of as a wedge whose front and side surfaces taper downward (Figure 1). As shown in FIGS. 1 and 40, the segment 1 is provided with a bearing 2 in the center of the width B, the length of which is approximately % of the width B of the partially washed top side 1 adjacent to the upper end of the front side F. The bearing 2 has a pin hole 5 extending in the horizontal direction.
It is equipped with Further, the segment 1 is provided with a pair of bearings 3α and 3b protruding from both end portions of the top side 8 in the opposite direction to the bearing 2 described above on the back side R. A pair of bearings 3α, 3b

Each component of the V-belt of the present invention, that is, the segments, bearings, bushes attached to the bearings, and rotating pins, are all made of metal, and are not limited to the lengthwise direction of the V-belt.
It is designed to withstand frictional forces applied to the sides of the individual segments. A V-belt made of metal segments is characterized by the ability to transmit torque by compressive force between adjacent segments.

Effects of the Invention The effects of the present invention are that since the V-belt is composed of a large number of metal segments interconnected by rotating lenses, a large frictional force is generated not only in the length direction of the V-belt but also on the slanted surface of the figure 7. It is possible to obtain a robust V-belt that overcomes the
