Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a fact that a document is fed going beyond a stopper to be only once when paper is discharged as well as to simplify the control of an operating member, by installing a document turnover part, turning over both sides of the document, in the opposite side to the stopper member via platen glass. CONSTITUTION:When a copy button is pressed, a motor inside an automatic document feeder 20 operates, and a delivery roller 21 delivers each document D along a guide plate 24a. If so, documents D are conveyed through a conveying route in consecutive order, eliminating a screen member 27, and conveyed on platen glass 11 by a conveyor belt 30, then hit to a stopper member 12, thus it stops. On the other hand, the document D finishing the exposure of its first surface i sent back on the platen glass 11, guided by the screen member 27, and fed into a turnover part 25b. If so, the document D passes through this turnover part 25b and, after both sides are turned over, again it eliminates the screen member 27, thus it is fed onto the platen glass 11. Then, the document D finishing the exposure of its second surface is delivered to a paper discharge tray 50 simultaneously with retraction of the stopper member 12.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a document conveying device used in addition to a recording device such as an electrophotographic copying machine. [Prior Art] An automated document feeder (ADF) has already been provided as a device that can efficiently supply documents to be copied to a recording device even in an unattended state. Its functionality was limited to copying only one side of a document. On the other hand, with the recent development of recording devices that can continuously copy both the front and back sides of recording paper, the need for ADFs that can copy double-sided originals is increasing, and as a mechanism for reversing originals in AI)F. Many ideas have been made. Regarding them, JP-A No. 59-216159, JP-A-53-112738, Utility Model Application No. 59-45
There are proposals such as Japanese Patent Laid-open No. 48 and Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 60-8834.

However, in the AI'') F according to each of the above-mentioned proposals, in order to turn over the original after the front side has been exposed, -F1 is used to convey the original past the original stopper and to the original reversing section provided on the original output tray side. Some devices use a method in which the document is fed in and then passed over the document stopper and placed on the platen glass again. As a result, the number of times the conveyance roller must be switched between forward and reverse directions increases, and the number of times the document stopper operates is doubled, causing the mechanical As the document transport device became more complicated, its control became complicated, and the document transport device became larger and more expensive.Furthermore, in the case of a fixed document stopper as in JP-A No. 60-8834, the original M The paper plate is on the same side as the reverse side of the document, making it difficult to load multiple sheets of document on the paper ejection tray.It also becomes difficult to take out the document.Furthermore, there is a switching mechanism between the ADF and the reverse side. The object of the present invention is to provide an AI)F having a reversing mechanism that is simple in structure and easy to control, as a result of solving and improving α.

Example 1 An example of the present invention is shown in FIG. The figure shows the recording apparatus main body 10 viewed from the front along the two-dot chain line. On the upper surface of the apparatus main body 1o, there is a document feeder (hereinafter referred to as ADF) of the present invention whose outline is indicated by a dashed line.
) 20 is mounted in a structure that allows it to be opened to the rear side by supporting it with hinges, etc. In the case of the figure, the AD, F2
0 is tilted toward the front and the document transport belt 30 is attached to the main body 1 of the apparatus.
The situation is such that the platen glass 11 provided on the top of the 0 is press-bonded. In other words, the ADF 20 enables automatic document feeding using the transport mechanism described below, but it also functions as a normal platen cover by manually opening and closing the entire AI) F20. There is. Ar) There is a document feeder 40 in the -L section of the F20, which stacks the originals. When the copy button is pressed, each transport mechanism is activated by the motor in the An)F20, and the feed roller 21 is activated. After applying pressure to the top surface of the tip of the document tray using its own weight, it begins to rotate in the direction of the arrow, and the first
A document with one side and two sides is sent out along the ID plate 24a. Next, the manuscript handling bell) 22a and mackerel troller 2
21) When only the top sheet is squeezed by the feed roller 21 and moves along the guide plate 24b and its tip reaches the feed roller 23a which rotates in the direction of the arrow, a detection signal from a sensor (not shown) causes the feed roller 21 to move forward. Cut off the power transmission to and bring the rotation to 7 Lee. The document sheet conveyed by the paper feed roller 23a is conveyed in an arc shape within the character-shaped 141 section 25a, and is turned upside down.
The shielding member 27 provided at the exit of the portion 25a is removed at the tip of the document tray, and reaches the conveyor belt 30, which is stretched between the clockwise rotating conveyor roller 28a and the driven roller 28b, and due to the frictional force. It goes up and transport continues. The original document slides leftward on the platen glass 11 and is conveyed by the conveyance bell) 30, so that the left end of the document slides to the left edge of the platen glass 11.
1: When the conveyance roller 28a comes into contact and stops, the conveyance roller 28a slips on the original and idles, but immediately after that, the aforementioned sensor causes the rotation of the conveyance roller 28a to be controlled by a signal output from the control section after a predetermined time delay. It is supposed to stop once. In other words, the conveyance roller 28a is stopped a predetermined time later than the time required from the time when the sensor detects the document stain to the time when the document reaches the document stopper member. Note that the document stopper member does not necessarily need to be installed on the recording apparatus main body side, and may be installed on the ADF side. In this state, the platen is pressed against the lath 11-F by the conveyor belt 30, which is under the weight of the plurality of pressure rollers 29 that are driven to rotate, and exposure of the first side is started, and then a well-known process is carried out. After that, the image is formed and transferred to the recording paper, and one-sided copying is completed. Furthermore, in the ADF 20 of the present invention, an original reversing section 25b is provided on the right side of the platen glass 11 for reversing the original document by a reversing path formed by a pair of thin metal plates, resin plates, etc.; is opened and connected to the aforementioned 141 portion 25a, and the other end is configured to open at the right edge of the platen glass 11. Reversing roller groups 23b, 2ff-c, and 23d that rotate in the direction of the arrow are arranged at key points of the reversing section 25b, and near the opening facing the platen glass 11, the reversing section 25 [1] A seven-point sensor 26 consisting of a light-emitting section 26a and a light-receiving section 261) for detecting a document passing through is arranged. On the other hand, when the first side of the original document has been exposed through the above-described process, the conveyance roller 28a starts rotating counterclockwise in synchronization with the end of exposure, so that the conveyance belt 30 conveys the first side of the platen glass to the right. be done. The right end of the conveyed original document is blocked by the shielding member 27, so that it does not enter the guide section 25a and is therefore sent to the reversing section 25b according to the present invention. Therefore, the original 1iD has transport rollers 23d, 23c, 23
After circulating counterclockwise in the reversing section 25b in the order of b, the right end of the original document, that is, the leading end in this case, reaches the guide section 25a, excludes the shielding member 27, and is fed onto the platen glass 11. , the path length of the reversing section 25b is set in advance so that the maximum length of each type of element f^D used is the maximum length. After passing through the beam,
Based on this signal, the rotation of the music transport roller 28a is switched clockwise again. Therefore, the document sent onto the platen glass 11 is turned upside down by passing through the reversing section 25b of the present invention, and is placed on the document stopper member 12 by the conveyor belt 30 with the back surface, that is, the second surface facing the platen glass 11. It is conveyed until it makes contact. Then, the rotation of the conveying roller 28a is stopped again by a signal issued by the seventh sensor 26 after a predetermined time delay. In other words, the conveying roller 28a is stopped a predetermined time later than the time required from when the original is detected by the original sensor 26 until the original reaches the original stopper member 12. Meanwhile, in the main body 10 of the apparatus, the recording paper that has undergone single-sided copying has been fixed, is turned over, and is ready to be transferred on the back side. 10, exposure, image formation, and transfer are performed on the back side of the document, that is, the #2 side. When the exposure of the back side of the document tray is completed, the document stopper member 12 is retracted by the action of a solenoid or the like, and then the conveyance roller 28a starts rotating clockwise again and the conveyance belt 30
The originals are conveyed in the pressure direction and delivered to a document discharge tray 50 provided outside the ADF 20, and the originals are sequentially stacked as copying is repeated. Note that after the rear end of the original document passes through the original stopper member 12, the original stopper member 12 returns to the illustrated position, and the clockwise rotation of the conveying roller 28a is stopped.
The structure is such that the operation cycle of the F 20 is restored to its original state and the subsequent conveyance of the document tray is automatically started. It is also possible to start transporting the next original while discharging the original, and after the rear end of the original passes the stopper, the stopper returns to stop the next original at a specified position. [Effects of the Invention] 81 The document conveying device of the present invention continuously copies the front and back sides of the document by further connecting the document reversing section to the guide section that inverts the document and conveys it to the platen glass-L. However, since the document reversing section is placed on the opposite side of the document stopper member across the platen glass, the document does not cross over the document stopper member when exposing the front and back sides of the document. The document needs to be conveyed only once at the time of paper ejection, and therefore the operation control of the document stopper member can be made very simple. At the same time, the rotational direction of each reversing roller group can also be fixed in one direction, which simplifies the control of the drive system. As a result, as in conventional conveying devices, the complicated conveyance path switching member and the adjustment of many conveyor 1 reversing rollers are required. Control such as reverse switching is no longer necessary, making it possible to provide a compact and trouble-free document conveying device.
