ので水平連接部7aがシール作用を奏するのに十
分な圧縮力を受ける前に、中央部16bの幅広部
分6が圧縮の死点に達することはない。なお、隆
起円弧部の中央部16bは大きな圧縮力を受けな
くても、前述の如く、条リツプ部分8がベンデイ
ングしてシリンダヘツドの合せ面になじむため、
条リツプ部分8により良好にシールされる。ま
た、上記のように、幅広部分6の半径方向の肉厚
が立上り部16aから中央部16bに向つて漸減
しているので、水平連接部7aには相対的に中央
部16bに比して大きな垂直方向の圧縮力を加え
