Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔発明の目的〕 (産業上の利用分野) この発明は、高周波誘導溶着によつて組立てる
中空樹脂体の補強装置に関する。
(従来の技術) 例えば自動2輪車のエンジンに用いるエアクリ
ーナケースは、主として合成樹脂成形品である。
エアクリーナケースは、第1図および第2図に示
すように、クリーナエレメントを収容する箱状の
ケース本体1と共に、エア吸入口2およびエア導
出口3が開口する。このうちエア導出口3は、ジ
ヨイントチュ−ブ4を延出し、その先端をキヤブ
レタあるいは多気筒用の複数個のキヤブレタへ分
配するためのエアチヤンバに接続する。後者の場
合、分配を平均化させるため、ジヨイントチユー
ブ4が断面楕円形に設定されることが多い。しか
し楕円形断面のチユーブはその短軸直径方向の剛
性が弱く変形しやすいので、エアチヤンバとの接
続のシール性に問題が生ずる。剛性を上げるため
には肉厚を厚くすればよいが、コストアツプにな
り成形しにくい。短軸直径に沿つて補強リブ5を
設ける方法も有効であるが、充分な強度を得るた
めには、リブ巾が大きくなり、流通断面積を縮小
する。また補強リブを合成樹脂で一体成形するに
はブロー成形その他の金型が複雑になり、別部品
として組付ける方法も生産性が悪い。
(発明が解決しようとする問題点) 以上のように、中空樹脂体に筒状などの開口部
があり、開口部の剛性が弱いために補強リブを必
要とするものでは、金型が複雑になり、生産性が
低いという問題があるのに鑑み、この発明は、こ
の問題点を解消するもので、極めて簡単な方法を
用いて生産性よく金属リブを開口部に掛け渡すこ
とを目的とした中空樹脂体の補強装置を提供する
ものである。
〔発明の構成〕
(問題点を解決するための手段〕 上記目的をもつてこの発明の中空樹脂体の補強
装置は、熱溶融性合成樹脂の分割本体を高周波誘
導溶着によつて接合するようにした開口部を有す
る中空樹脂体において、上記開口部を横切るよう
に接合面を設定し、接合面に沿わせる高周波誘導
加熱用金属ワイヤを開口部にもこれを横切つて掛
け渡し、溶着加工後そのまま開口部に存在させた
構成にする。
(作用) このように構成したことにより、中空樹脂体が
分割半体から高周波誘導溶着して形成されると同
時に、金属線が開口部を横切つて掛け渡されたも
のとなり、開口部の変形を防ぐ。
(実施例) 第3図はこの発明の実施例を示すエアクリーナ
ケースの斜視図である。
エアクリーナケース1をジヨイントチユーブ4
ともども、半ケース(分割半体)1a,1bとし
て熱溶融性合成樹脂で成形して備える。この場合
の分割面は、必要とする補強リブを含む面に設定
する。すなわち、ジヨイントチユーブ4が楕円形
断面になり、その端面に短軸直径方向の補強リブ
を設ける必要があるので、この補強リブを含む面
によつて、ジヨイントチユーブ4を左右に2分割
設定する。
半ケース1a,1bを接合するには高周波誘導
溶着を用いる。高周波誘導溶着は、第4図に示す
ように両半ケース1a,1bの接合面5に沿つて
加熱用金属ワイヤ6を挟んで仮組みし、これに高
周波誘導コイル7によつて高周波電磁波を印加し
て金属ワイヤ6を加熱し、この熱によつて接合面
5部の合成樹脂が溶融して溶着する方法である。
金属ワイヤ6はそのまま接合面5に埋込まれる。
仮組み時の金属ワイヤ6の保持、溶着強度上接合
面5を凹溝と凸条で組合わせるとよい。
次に、前記ジヨイントチユーブ4の端面4aに
おいては、金属ワイヤ6を分断することなく、そ
のまま短軸直径方向に沿つて掛け渡して置く。溶
着加工後この露出した金属ワイヤ6aが補強リブ
として残される。
こうして付設された補強リブは、細い金属ワイ
ヤであり、空気流通の邪魔にならず、一体成形の
合成樹脂リブに比べ充分に大きい強度を持つ。特
に引張り方向に強く、エアチヤンバと接続すると
き、バンド型のクランプ金具で外周を締め付ける
と円形に変形しようとするのに対して、有効にこ
れを防ぐ。金属ワイヤ6は全周に連続しているの
で容易に抜け出ることもない。圧縮方向にさらに
大きい強度が必要な場合は、金属ワイヤ6の線
径、断面形状を要求に合わせて設定する。
〔発明の効果〕
以上のようにこの発明に係る中空樹脂体の補強
装置は、分割半体を接合するために接合面に沿わ
せる高周波誘導加熱用の金属ワイヤを開口部に掛
け渡して溶着加工後補強リブとして残すようにし
たもので、特別な部品、補器を用いず、また別段
の加工工程を加えないで、金属補強リブを簡単に
開口部に掛け渡すことができる。したがつて、軽
量で、かつ剛性の高い中空樹脂体を生産性よく、
低コストで提供できる効果がある。

は同第1図のA矢視図、第3図はこの発明の実施
例を示すエアクリーナケースの斜視図、第4図は
第3図の部分拡大断面図である。 1…エアクリーナケース、1a,1b…半ケー
ス、4…ジヨイントチユーブ、5…接合面、6,
6a…金属ワイヤ、7…高周波誘導コイル。

Claims (1)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 1 熱溶融性合成樹脂の分割本体を高周波誘導溶
    着によつて接合するようにした開口部を有する中
    空樹脂体において、上記開口部を横切るように接
    合面を設定し、接合面に沿わせる高周波誘導加熱
    用金属ワイヤを開口部にもこれを横切つて掛け渡
    し、溶着加工後そのまま開口部に存在させたこと
    を特徴とする中空樹脂体の補強装置。
