(Prior Art) When an automobile engine is operated, combustion gas leaks from between the cylinder and the piston ring, and so-called blow-by gas is generated in the crankcase.
The blow-by gas contains lubricating oil or incomplete combustion components in the form of a mist, so these are separated and only the gas is introduced into the engine intake system to be re-burned, resulting in separated and condensed oil. Oil separation devices for blow-by gas that return droplets to the crankcase are installed in the crankcase or rock cover, but both have low oil separation efficiency because the installation location is high temperature. For that reason, Jikko 54-
Like the oil separator shown in Publication No. 14839, the oil separator is installed on the outer wall of the intake manifold, and the low temperature of the intake air passing through the intake manifold is used to cool the oil separator. There are methods that attempt to improve the efficiency of separating oil from gas.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) However, the intake manifold section is located near the engine, and there is a problem in that the oil separation device is heated by the radiant heat of the engine. Further, there is a problem that the contact area between the oil separator and the intake air passing through the intake manifold is small, and the oil separator is not sufficiently cooled, making it impossible to improve oil separation efficiency.

(Means for Solving the Problems) The present invention includes a cooling section in the intake system of an air cleaner, which includes a cylindrical tube with fins fixed to its outer periphery, a spiral plate disposed inside one side of the tube, and a cooling section on the other side of the tube. An oil separator consisting of a separation part provided with a separation plate is provided in the oil separator.

(Function) The blow-by gas containing oil flows into the cooling section of the oil separator, is given a swirling flow by the spiral plate, and swirls along the inner circumferential wall of the cooling section. Fins fixed to the outer circumference of the tube located in the intake system of the air cleaner are cooled by the intake air, cooling the circumferential wall and spiral plate of the cooling section, and removing mist and relatively large oil droplets blown onto the inner circumferential wall of the tube by the swirling flow. In addition to immediately cooling it into a liquid state, it also cools the swirling blow-by gas, increasing the efficiency of oil separation when it collides with the separation plate.

As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the oil separator 1 is formed into a cylindrical tube made of aluminum material with good heat transfer effect, and consists of a cooling section 2 and a separation section 3. In the cooling section 2, a spiral plate 5, which is formed by twisting a thin plate material such as a flat plate, a perforated plate, or a foamed metal, into a spiral shape, is disposed inside one side of the tube. Further, a plurality of fins 4 are radially fixed on the outer periphery of the tube to which the spiral plate 5 is fixed. In the separation section 3 following the cooling section 2, a separation plate 6 is provided in the tube so as to be inclined toward the spiral plate 5, and this separation plate 6 is provided with a cutout (upper part in FIG. 2). A gas outlet 7 is formed. An oil droplet outlet 8 is provided on the lower surface of the tube in front of the separation plate 6 and communicates with the crankcase via an oil droplet return pipe 11.

During operation of the engine E, blow-by gas generated in the crankcase (not shown) flows into the oil separator 1 from the blow-by gas introduction pipe 9, and rotates along the spiral of the spiral plate 5 of the cooling section 2 until it reaches the separation section. Flows towards 3. At this time, the mist of oil and incomplete combustion components in the blow-by gas swirls along the inner peripheral wall of the tube due to the swirling flow.
It adheres to the inner peripheral wall of the tube due to centrifugal force. A large number of fins 4 located in the inlet pipe 13 and fixed to the outer periphery of the tube are cooled by the inhaled air and cool the inner peripheral wall and spiral plate of the tube with aluminum material, which is a good heat conductor. Cools and liquefies mist and oil on the surrounding wall. At this time, the heat of the blow-by gas is radiated from the fins 4 through the tube wall. The oil that has been cooled and condensed during the rotation and the fine oil that has not been separated collide with the separation plate 6 of the separation section 3 to become oil droplets and return to the crankcase from the oil droplet outlet 8. Furthermore, the blow-by gas from which oil and other substances have been removed is transferred from the gas outlet 7 to the air cleaner 12.
and is reburned by engine E.

(Effects of the invention) As described above, the present invention has a cooling section in which a spiral plate is inserted and fixed on one side of the tube, and fins are fixed on the outer periphery of the tube, and a gas outlet and an oil droplet outlet on the other side. An oil separator consisting of a separating part with a separating plate fixed to it is installed in the intake system of the air cleaner, so that the blow-by gas in the crankcase is cooled by the fins while the engine is running, and a swirling flow is formed by the spiral plate. Since the gas is separated by collision with the separation plate, efficient gas-liquid separation can be achieved.
