Description
The present invention relates to an oil separation device for an internal combustion engine, and to an oil separation device for separating oil mist in blow-by gas.
2. Description of the Related Art An internal combustion engine is known in which an oil separator is provided in a blow-by gas passage that recirculates blow-by gas in a crank chamber to an intake system. For example, in
In the oil separation apparatus that removes oil using a plurality of baffle plates as described above, in order to improve oil separation performance, the number of baffle plates is increased, the degree of bending of the flow path through which blow-by gas flows is increased, or the flow path A technique such as increasing the length is applied. However, in these methods, the flow resistance increases and the flow rate of blow-by gas decreases, so there is a limit to improving the separation performance.
In view of the above background, an object of the present invention is to improve oil separation performance in an oil separation device for an internal combustion engine.
In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides an oil separation device (10) for an internal combustion engine (1), comprising a lower wall (56A), an upper wall (56B), and a pair of side walls (56C, 56D). A gas-liquid separation passage (56) that is formed inside the passage-forming member (41, 42) and extends in the horizontal direction; a gas inlet (54) provided at one end of the gas-liquid separation passage; and the other end. A gas outlet (63), a plurality of lower partition walls (56H) protruding upward from the lower wall, and a plurality of parallel partitions protruding downward from the upper wall. Each of the lower partition walls extends in a first direction inclined with respect to the longitudinal direction of the gas-liquid separation passage in a plan view, and each of the upper partition walls is , The second direction intersecting the first direction in plan view A spiral channel extending in the longitudinal direction is formed in the gas-liquid separation passage by the lower partition and the upper partition, and the gas inlet to the gas outlet is formed along the spiral channel. Assuming that the turning direction when facing is the normal turning direction, the lower wall has an upstream portion corresponding to the upstream side in the normal turning direction and a downstream portion corresponding to the downstream side when viewed from the direction along the longitudinal direction. It inclines with respect to a horizontal surface so that it may be located below. The upper surface of the lower wall may be formed in a planar shape.
According to this configuration, the spiral flow path is formed in the gas-liquid separation passage, and the blow-by gas passing through the spiral flow path becomes a spiral swirl. Thereby, the oil contained in gas adheres to a lower wall, an upper wall, and a pair of side wall with a centrifugal force, and is isolate | separated from gas. Since the lower partition wall and the upper partition wall form a spiral channel and flow the gas spirally, the channel resistance can be reduced compared with the case where the labyrinth channel is formed, and the gas flow rate is reduced. The decrease can be suppressed. In addition, since the lower wall is inclined so as to face the normal swirl direction of the gas from the gas inlet to the gas outlet, the oil in the gas tends to adhere to the lower wall, and the oil separation performance is improved. . The oil adhering to the lower wall flows on the lower wall inclined by gravity to the upstream portion and is collected.
Said invention WHEREIN: It is good to arrange | position so that the 1st side wall (56C) provided in the said upstream part among the said side walls and the said lower wall may make an acute angle.
According to this configuration, the gas swirling along the spiral flow path is bent at an acute angle along the first side wall and the lower wall at the boundary between the first side wall and the lower wall. Thereby, the oil in gas becomes easier to adhere to the lower wall.
In the above invention, the second side wall (56D) provided in the downstream portion among the side walls is disposed in parallel with the first side wall, the upper wall is disposed in parallel with the lower wall, and the air The cross section orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the liquid separation passage may be formed in a parallelogram.
According to this configuration, the gas swirling along the spiral flow path is bent at an acute angle along the second side wall and the upper wall at the boundary between the second side wall and the upper wall. Thereby, the oil in gas becomes easier to adhere to the upper wall. The oil adhering to the upper wall flows along the upper wall and the side wall, or flows to the upstream portion of the lower wall by being dropped and collected.
In the above invention, the lower partition wall may be disposed so as to form a gap with the first side wall (56C) provided in the upstream portion of the side walls.
According to this configuration, the oil collected in the upstream portion of the lower wall can move in the longitudinal direction of the gas-liquid separation passage through the gap formed between the first side wall and the lower partition. it can. Therefore, the oil collected in the upstream portion can be further collected in a part in the longitudinal direction.
In the above invention, the lower end surface of the upper partition wall is located above the upper end surface of the lower partition wall, and the arbitrary upper partition wall may cross at least one of the lower partition walls in plan view. .
According to this configuration, since the upper partition and the lower partition do not interfere with each other, the number of the upper partition and the lower partition that can be arranged in the gas-liquid separation passage can be increased. As the number of the upper partition walls and the lower partition walls increases, the number of turns per unit length of the spiral flow path increases. As a result, the number of gas turns from the gas inlet to the gas outlet is increased, and the oil separation performance is improved.
In the above invention, the lower end surface of the upper partition wall and the upper end surface of the lower partition wall may have a portion in contact with each other.
According to this configuration, the outer shape of the spiral channel is more clearly defined by the lower end surface of the upper partition wall and the upper end surface of the lower partition wall coming into contact with each other. Thereby, the blow-by gas flowing through the spiral flow path becomes a vortex that spirals more reliably.
In the above invention, the gas-liquid separation passage may have a throttle portion (56G) having a reduced cross-sectional area with respect to other portions at least in a part in the longitudinal direction.
According to this configuration, the flow rate of blow-by gas is increased in the throttle portion, and the oil is more easily separated by centrifugal force.
In the above invention, the passage forming member includes first and second cover members (41, 42) which are combined with each other to form a part of a head cover of an internal combustion engine, and the first cover member includes at least the lower wall. The second cover member may include at least the upper wall and the upper partition.
According to this configuration, the gas-liquid separation passage having the upper partition and the lower partition can be formed with a simple configuration.
According to the above configuration, the oil separation performance can be enhanced in the oil separation device of the internal combustion engine.

The flow of blow-by gas and fresh air of the internal combustion engine 1 configured as described above will be described. When the output of the internal combustion engine 1 is low, the turbocharger is stopped. In this state, the downstream side of the
Oil mist contained in the blow-by gas is removed from the blow-by gas by adhering to the wall surface of the passage when passing through each passage. The oil mist is removed particularly when passing through the second gas-
At the same time as the blow-by gas in the
At the time of high output of the internal combustion engine 1, the turbocharger is driven, and the
Oil mist contained in the blow-by gas is removed from the blow-by gas by adhering to the wall surface of the passage when passing through each passage. The oil mist is removed particularly when passing through the first gas-
The effects of the
Further, in the first gas-
In the first gas-
In addition, since the first gas-
Similarly, the second gas-
In the first gas-
In the second gas-
The
In addition, since the lower end surfaces of the
The blow-by gas flowing through the first and second gas-
Since the first and second gas-
