DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a temperature sensor for detecting the surface temperature of a temperature measuring object such as a rotating body without contacting the temperature measuring object.

Conventionally, in order to control the temperature of the fixing roller in a copy machine, a temperature sensor such as a thermistor is directly or indirectly brought into contact with the fixing roller to detect the surface temperature. As a result, the fixing roller is easily scratched, and the part in contact with the fixing roller is subject to large wear, shortening the service life. In addition, the indirect method of detecting the temperature has the following problems:
The heat is absorbed by the temperature-sensing element protective member which is in contact with the fixing roller, and therefore the thermal response is poor.

Therefore, in recent years, a device has been developed in which a metal frame is attached in parallel to a base using an insulator, and a temperature sensing element such as a thermistor is attached to the tip of the metal frame. This fixes the base so that the temperature-sensitive element is placed at an appropriate distance from the fixing roller, and since it is a non-contact type, it does not damage the fixing roller. It is superior to conventional metal frames in that it does not come in contact with the metal frame, so heat does not escape directly to the metal frame.

However, even with this temperature sensor, since the metal frame has a large area, a considerable amount of the heat from the fixing roller is absorbed by the metal frame, and the temperature detected by the temperature sensing element is likely to be affected by the heat of the metal frame. In addition, since it is a metal frame, the mounting position relative to the fixing roller is limited, and the cost is also high.

This idea was created by focusing on the points mentioned above.
The purpose of this is to provide a temperature sensor in which the temperature-sensitive element can be attached very easily, with less adverse effects from the heat of the fixing roller, since the object on which the temperature-sensitive element is attached is a metal wire. It is in.

Another object of the present invention is that by providing a step in the metal wire, it can be attached to the side of the fixing roller where there is less turbulence in heat convection. An object of the present invention is to provide a temperature sensor that can detect the flow of water and measure temperature accurately.

Reference numeral 1 denotes a support base made of an insulating material such as synthetic resin, and has two elongated holes 1a formed therein. This elongated hole 1a is for adjusting the gap between the fixing roller A and the support rod fixed to the frame plate of the main body of the copying machine. Reference numerals 2 and 3 are metal wires of large and small shapes formed in a substantially U-shape, and their bases 2a and 3a are fixed to one side of the support base 1 by molding. One end of each of the metal wires 2 and 3 facing each other is connected to the support base 1.
The terminal wires 2b and 3b protrude from the upper surface of the terminal. Further, the center portions 2c, 3c of the metal wires 2, 3 are shifted in the front-rear direction to form a step. Reference numeral 4 designates a temperature sensing element such as a bead thermistor, and its lead wire is fixed to the center portions 2c, 3c of the metal wires 2, 3 by soldering or the like.

The temperature sensor configured as described above is installed at a position slightly below the top of the fixing roller A, as shown in FIG. As mentioned above, the metal wires 2 and 3 of the temperature sensor are formed to have a step in the front and back direction, so the attached temperature sensing element 4
is substantially parallel to the curved surface of the fixing roller A. When the temperature sensor is installed in this manner, the distance Δl between the temperature sensing element 4 and the surface of the fixing roller A can be easily adjusted by simply moving the temperature sensor body left and right in FIG. When the temperature sensor is installed in the position shown in FIG. 3, as compared with the case where it is installed directly above the fixing roller A, there is less disturbance in heat convection, so that accurate temperature detection is possible.

Furthermore, the terminal wires 2b and 3b are not limited to those that simply extend from the metal wires 2 and 3;
It is also possible to connect lead wires to a and 3a.

As mentioned above, the present invention involves attaching two approximately U-shaped metal wires to the support stand in two stages, upper and lower, and installing a temperature sensing element between the metal wires so as not to make contact with the object to be measured, such as the fixing roller. The temperature can be measured with a metal wire, which does not damage the object to be measured, and because the member to which the temperature sensing element is attached is a metal wire, the heat capacity is small, so the metal wire has a small thermal effect. It can measure temperature accurately.

In addition, by providing a step in the front and back direction of the metal wire, the temperature-sensing element is parallel to the fixing roller, which is the temperature-measuring object, even if it is placed on the side of the temperature-measuring object, which prevents disturbances in heat convection. This has the advantage of being able to accurately detect temperature in places where there is little temperature.
