Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to cool a tip by means of cool air by boring a hole for introducing cool air through the inside of a tool with one end of the hole opening to a tip attachment surface and the other end attached with an air cooler device which is freely detachable. CONSTITUTION:A throwaway tip 3 is attached to the front end of a shank 2 while a clamp mechanism for restraining the tip 3 to an attachment surface is incorporated at the tip side end portion of the shank 2. A hole 8 for introducing cool air is bored through the inside of the shank 2 with one end of the hole opening toward the attachment surface 4 while the other end opening to the rear end of the shank. An air cooler device 11 is connected via a nipple 10 to an opening 9. With the above arrangement, cool air supplied from the air cooler device 11 flows through the hole 8, goes out through a gap between the attachment surface 4 and the tip 3, and cools almost entire surface of the tip 3.

状況にある。また切削油を供給するための給油装置やこ
れに伴う油回収装置を工作機構に付設しなければならな
いので1機構が複雑となり、作業性、経済性などで好ま
しいとは言えない。

回動させ、チップ3を装着面4に密着乃至離脱させるよ
うになっている。なお、装着面4は通常チップ外周の2
面拘束を可能にするように成形されており、チップ装着
状態ではチップ間に隙間7が存在している。

ル10を介してエアークーラー装[11を接続する構成
にする。これにより、エアークーラー装置11から供給
した冷風は図中矢印の如く六8内を流れ、装着面4とチ
ップ3の間の隙間7から外部に吹き出されてチップ3を
略全面的に冷却することができる。

着時にチップ外周と密着するために隙間が存在しない装
着面4につき強度的に支障を来たさない限度で冷風吹出
し用の溝を形成してもよい。

に適合した冷却調整も可能であるのでチップの寿命延長
化も期待でき。
