Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate degassing and to prevent one-side plating when a porous metallic body is produced by continuous electroplating, by fitting degassing pipes to the titanium case of a lower anode bag and inclining the surface of the case. CONSTITUTION:Resin having a three-dimensional network structure and provided with electric conductivity is continuously plated with a metal to produce a porous metallic body. The surface of a titanium case 1 of a lower anode bag is inclined, a titanium wire net 2 is stretched on the surface, degassing pipes 3 are fitted to the higher wall of the case 1, and the case 1 is enclosed in a cloth bag 4. When electroplating is carried out with the resulting lower anode bag, gas generated from metallic pieces for plating is constantly exhausted from the pipes 3 owing to the inclined surface of the case 1 and the resin can be uniformly plated from both sides.

Conventional technology To manufacture a metal porous body (three-dimensional network structure), a three-dimensional network structure of plastic resin (a mesh-like foam that is breathable) is coated with chemical plating or a conductive substance. to give conductivity and electroplating metals. As a method for continuously performing electroplating of this metal, for example, the method shown in US Pat. No. 4,326,191 is known.

In other words, as shown in Fig. 8, a three-dimensional network structure plastic resin (3) with conductivity in the form of a wide band is connected to a rotating electrode (
9) in a conductive solution (5), and then moved through the plating solution (6) from left to right in the drawing using multiple combinations of external power supply rolls (8) and plating tanks (7). In order to perform electroplating, anode bags OQ, 0υ are provided at the top and bottom so that the strip-shaped resin is plated uniformly, and the metal pieces to be plated, such as nickel pieces and copper pieces, are placed in the anode bags and the anode is placed in the anode bag. The resin is then plated from both the top and bottom.

Normally, the lower anode bag 00 is a titanium plate case with a titanium ring wire mesh lid, which is wrapped in a cloth bag to prevent metal pieces and particles from flowing into the liquid. Similarly, Ql) uses a case with a titanium ring wire mesh bottom wrapped in a cloth bag.

C1 Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, in the conventional method, when electroplating is performed, gas (hydrogen) is released from the metal piece that is the anode of the lower anode bag αO.
is generated and this gas accumulates in the lower anode bag, especially the cloth bag. When gas accumulates in the anode bag, this gas creates electrical resistance, which reduces plating from the bottom and does not change the plating from the top, resulting in one-sided plating of the resin, resulting in a large intercultivation in terms of quality.

The purpose of this invention is to prevent gas from accumulating in the lower anode bag and not coming out of the cloth bag, creating electrical resistance and causing the resin to be plated on one side.

20 Means to Solve the Problems This invention provides a gas venting pipe in the titanium case of the lower anode bag when continuously electroplating a porous metal body, and a slope on the top surface (lid) of the titanium case. This is a method for producing a porous metal body, characterized in that one-sided plating of the resin is prevented by using a lower anode bag that allows gas to be easily removed on a regular basis.

In the production of the porous metal body of the present invention, FIG. 1 is a perspective view, and FIG.
The lower anode bag shown in the A-A sectional view in the figure is a titanium case (1) with a sloped top surface, and a titanium ring wire mesh (2) is stretched over the top surface, and the height of the sloped case is high. A lower anode bag is used in which a gas vent pipe (3) is provided on the side wall and the pipe is wrapped in a cloth bag (4). In the drawing, there are two gas venting pipes, but it goes without saying that it may be one, or a plurality of three or more.

When this lower anode bag is used, the gas generated from the plating metal piece during electroplating is constantly discharged from the gas vent pipe (3) due to the slope of the top surface of the anode bag, and does not accumulate in the anode bag. Therefore, the electrical resistance from the lower anode bag does not always increase, and the resin is plated uniformly from both sides.

E1 Effects of the Invention When the continuous metal plating method for a three-dimensional network structure of the present invention is used, the gas generated from the lower anode bag is constantly discharged through the gas vent pipe and does not accumulate. Therefore, this is an effective method in which electroplating is always uniformly applied to the plastic resin of the three-dimensional network structure from both the upper and lower surfaces, and a porous metal body of good quality can be obtained.
