<Background and prior art> Traditionally, small radios, cassette tape recorders, and other electrical appliances and their attached parts such as headphones and microphones have been packaged by wrapping the main item and accessories separately in foam sheets, or using paper boxes, etc. A synthetic resin sheet is molded into which storage recesses are formed in advance to match the external shape of each item. In the past, articles were stored and packaged in each concave portion using a recess (Utility Model Publication No. 1983-31997).

However, in the former case, the packaging process is very time-consuming and the cost of packaging materials is high.
Furthermore, in terms of storage efficiency, wasted space was likely to occur. In addition, in the latter case, manufacturing a sheet molded product having complicatedly shaped recesses is troublesome, the product does not have sufficient cushioning protection against external impact, and when storing multiple items, the space between each recess is troublesome. Since it is necessary to provide a certain interval between the two, there was a problem in terms of storage efficiency.

The shape of each of the plurality of protrusions 11, 11' differs depending on the shape of the article to be stored. For example, in the illustrated embodiment, a small cassette player C with a headphone H is packaged as the article to be stored. The case is shown in which a rectangular cassette player C is housed in the center of four protrusions 11, 11' provided on the four peripheries, and the inner surfaces of the protrusions 11, 11' are placed along the four sides of the cassette player C. The shapes of the protrusions 11 and 11' are formed so that they are in contact with each other, and the outer surface shape of the protrusions 11 and 11' is formed to follow the inner surface shape of the C-shaped annular headphone H. Therefore, the four protrusions 11 and 11'11'
The inner space and outer space are used as storage areas for different items.

Note that the protrusions 12, 12' are arranged at the center of the earmuff portion of the headphone H to protect this portion. Further, 13 and 13' are the protruding parts 1
1, 11', 12, and 12', and are arranged along the outer surface shape of the headphone H, and 14, 14' are formed along the central part in which the cassette player C is housed. The ribbed convex strip contacts the upper and lower surfaces of the cassette player C, which is relatively heavy and requires shock absorbing protection, to provide good protection.

Next, in the side pieces 20, 20', 21, 21' are a large number of rib convex strips formed almost on the entire surface along the height direction when assembled, and in addition to reinforcing the side pieces 20, 20', as shown in the figure. It is also effective for contacting and protecting the outer surface of the headphone H. Note that the side pieces 20, 20' are connected to the main body pieces 10, 1 along the longitudinal direction.
In addition to being formed at a location adjacent to 0', a similar side member can be connected to the side edge of the main body piece 10 or 10' (the edge in the vertical direction in FIG. 1) so as to be bendable. For example, during assembly, all six sides of the article to be stored can be covered with the cushioning packaging material 1.

The above-described cushioning packaging material 1 is assembled into a frame shape and is formed of, for example, cardboard after storing articles such as a cassette player C or a headphone H in a sandwiched state between the main body pieces 10 and 10' facing each other. It is used by being inserted into a flat cylindrical outer case 5. This outer case 5 covers the opening on the side of the buffer packaging material 1, and also allows the cover piece 30 folded over the outer surface of the main body piece 10 to be sandwiched inside the outer case 5, so that the cover piece 30 can be glued, etc. Even without using any special fixing means, there is no fear that the buffer overpackaging material 1 will disintegrate, and it can be used conveniently. Further, since the opening surface of the exterior case 5 is closed by the side pieces 20, 20', the appearance is good and suitable (see FIGS. 4 to 6).

Next, as the synthetic resin sheet forming the above-mentioned cushioning packaging material 1, foamed or non-foamed sheets of various synthetic resins conventionally used as packaging materials can be used, but particularly preferred ones include butadiene, for example. There is a highly polymerized foamed polystyrene sheet containing a foamed polystyrene sheet, and a relatively hard foamed sheet a such as a foamed polystyrene sheet and a relatively soft foamed sheet c made of a polyolefin foamed sheet such as a foamed polyethylene sheet or a foamed polypropylene sheet are EVA. A multilayer sheet laminated with a binder B interposed therebetween is suitable as it has both rigidity and flexibility (see Figure 7), and a non-woven sheet made of resin such as high impact polystyrene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, etc. A plurality of sheets in which the foam sheet d and the above-mentioned relatively soft foam sheet c are laminated is also preferred (see FIG. 8).

In addition, when using a multilayer sheet as described above, the flexible sheet side shall be used as the surface that comes into contact with the stored articles. Furthermore, it is preferable to apply antistatic treatment to each of the synthetic resin sheets, since this is effective in preventing the adhesion of dirt and dust.

The articles to be packaged with the shock-absorbing packaging material 1 of this invention include articles that are precise and need to be protected from shock and vibration, such as the small cassette player C equipped with the headphone H mentioned above, and articles such as the headphone H. It is particularly suitable for packaging accessories that have complex shapes and break easily, and can also be applied to packaging various other precision electrical products, toys, ceramic glass products, etc. .

In addition to being able to hold articles with good cushioning properties in the space between the side portions 1, 11', 12, and 12', the following effects are also achieved.

(a) Even if the individual protruding parts 11, 11', etc. have a relatively simple shape, by appropriately arranging a plurality of protruding parts 11, 11', etc., it is possible to partially apply them to appropriate parts of the article. Because it comes in contact with and protects items, it can be easily applied to items of multiple shapes, and is much easier to manufacture and cheaper than conventional methods that form storage recesses that follow the entire shape of the item. become.

(b) In conventional storage recesses, if multiple items are to be stored, the recesses cannot be formed unless an appropriate space is provided between each storage recess, and the cushioning performance against the top surface of the items is also poor. Although there is a drawback, according to the protrusion of this invention, if the protrusion 11 etc. are formed only in places where there is space between each article, it is possible to protect the articles with sufficient cushioning properties. can be stored compactly in a minimum amount of space, resulting in excellent storage efficiency.

(c) Since a large number of rib protrusions 14, 14' are formed on the surfaces of the main body pieces 10, 10' that come into contact with the stored articles, the articles can be elastically clamped and held by these protrusions, and the articles can be held tightly. The impact against the object can be gradually softened by this convex portion.

(d) The plurality of protrusions 11, 11' etc. are the main body piece 10.
When the main body piece 10' is assembled vertically facing each other, corresponding protrusions 11, 11' are formed on both.
Since the tips of the two main body pieces 10, 10' are formed at a height such that the tips of the two main body pieces 10, 10' are exactly in contact with each other, the distance between the two main body pieces 10, 10' can be maintained appropriately by the protrusion parts 11, 11', etc. This means that items stored in the space between the two can be protected with good cushioning properties. That is, main body piece 1
0 and 10' and the side pieces 20 and 20' are mutually bendable, and may easily bend and deform even after being assembled into a frame shape. The protrusion 11 serves as a support to maintain the shape of the entire cushioning packaging material 1, and prevents the center portions of the individual main body pieces 10, 10' from sagging or bending. , 11' can be prevented from coming into contact with each other, and the shock-absorbing packaging material 1 can maintain a good storage space without being deformed even by external forces during transportation or loads during loading.

(e) The shock-absorbing packaging material 1 itself is made up of a single sheet-like piece in which the main body pieces 10, 10', the side pieces 20, 20', and the cover piece 30 are connected, and these are assembled by folding. Therefore, it can be easily manufactured using a normal sheet molding method, and it is also easy to transport and store. In particular, the opposing protrusions 11 and 1
1', etc. is added to the total height of the storage space for the item, so even if the height of the individual protrusions 11, 11', etc. is lower than the height of the item itself, sufficient storage space can be obtained. , which is particularly advantageous in terms of moldability during production.
