Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to cope with various kinds of containers to remove those from a high speed conveyer, by providing such an arrangement that a pusher engaging member is reversed in accordance with a container removal signal from an inspection device to move a pusher to a container removal position along a guide member, and therefore, a defective container is removed from the conveyer. CONSTITUTION:During conveyance by a main conveyer 2, a defective bottle 3b is detected by means of an inspection device 9 which therefore delivers an output signal to a solenoid valve belonging to an air cylinder 22. Therefore, the solenoid valve is operated, resulting in that an abutting member 24 abuts against a pusher 10 having been displaced, and when an arm 15 is reversed at the position A, an engaging member 18 makes into contact with a guide member 18. Further, due to the displacement of the pusher 10 toward the downstream side, a roller member 16a start to move toward the conveyer 2 together with the pusher 10 just after the reversing of the arm 15. Then, at the position C a member 16b also starts to make into contact with a guide rail 20, and at the position D both members 16a, 16b are moved together with the pusher 10. During this movement the pusher 10 is projected toward the conveyer 10 so that the defective bottle 3b is pushed out onto a turn table 26. At the position E the member 16a makes into contact with the guide rail so that the defective bottle 3b is pushed out, completely.

Generally, when a defective container is detected by an electrical or optical inspection device, the defective container is grasped and removed by a starwheel-type rejecting device attached to the inspection device. The container gripping method of this star wheel type removal device can be roughly divided into a vacuum suction type and a clamp type.

The vacuum suction type device requires various auxiliary equipment such as a suction unit that suctions and holds the bottle, a negative pressure source that applies negative pressure to this suction unit, and a solenoid valve, and as a result, the device itself is very complicated. Another problem is that the device becomes expensive because it requires a large number of component parts. In addition, when using this device on containers before cleaning (sometimes even after cleaning), when suctioning the container, it is possible to remove any dust that may have adhered to the container.
Dirt etc. can enter the vacuum path and block it.
There is a problem that Moreover, even if the container has been cleaned, if there is an embossed trademark display or other irregularities on the container 291131, etc., there is a problem that the container cannot be used because it prevents the formation of the vacuum.

On the other hand, as a clamp type device, for example,
There is one disclosed in Japanese Patent No. 34302. This device transports containers by suspending them with clamps, then releases the clamps and discharges them to the collection line. However, this device makes a lot of noise because both normal and defective containers are held in place by the clamps. There is a problem in that durability is poor because parts such as the clamp are subject to significant wear. Further, since the structure is held by clamps, there is a problem that it cannot be applied to containers with different diameters, containers with low container heights (for example, small beer bottles, etc.), and neckless containers.

Furthermore, a common drawback of vacuum suction type devices and clamp type devices is that when the type of container is changed and the size of the container changes, the entire mechanical unit must be replaced to match the container size. .

Containers that have been inspected by the container inspection device are placed on the main container conveyor and transported. Normal containers are transported as is to the next process on this main conveyor, while defective containers are transported by the main conveyor. During this time, the engaging member of the pusher is reversed by an actuator actuated based on a container removal signal from the inspection device, and the pusher is guided to the guide member, and the pusher is moved by the pusher.
! While being moved by the JJ device in the same direction and at the same speed as the main conveyor, it is guided to the container removal position by the guide member. As a result, defective containers are pushed out of the main conveyor and removed.

As is clear from the description of the embodiments above, according to the present invention, the containers placed on the main conveyor are inspected by the inspection device, and then normal containers are transported as they are to the next process by the main conveyor. On the other hand, defective containers are gradually pushed out of the main conveyor and removed by a pusher that moves at the same speed as the main conveyor. Therefore, regardless of whether containers are cleaned or not, the removal device can be used for many types of containers such as different types of containers and neckless containers.
