Abstract
PURPOSE: To sort a defective article on a conveying line as the article remains erected, by providing a setter and a plurality of pushers for conveying articles and by providing a sorter for conducting the defective article to a branch passage in connection with a defective article detector.
CONSTITUTION: Articles 19 are nipped by the screw of a setter 7 and the holding parts 15 of pushers 10 so that the articles are conveyed on a conveying line 1. Holders 13 are rotated by sprockets 11 and endless chains 12. When a defective article is detected by a detector, the cam plate 18 of a sorter is moved down and the boss 14 of a pusher 10 is conducted to a branching rail 9b. As a result, the pusher 10 slides in a holder 13, and the defective article 19' is guided from an inlet port 5a to a branch passage 5 as the article remains held by a holding part 15. The defective article 19' is then conveyed by a conveyor 6 and transferred from an outlet port 5b onto a storage table 3. The defective article such as a bottle can thus be sorted as it remains erected.
