However, in this structure, the bearing 32 at the upper end of the intermediate shaft 15 cannot be lubricated with oil 55, so a grease-filled type is used, and the bush 35 of the king pin 33 is also lubricated with the nutcle arm 36. A grease nipple 38 is provided on the holder, which increases manufacturing costs and requires time and effort to perform maintenance and inspection to prevent lubrication failure.

In FIG. 2, the same reference numerals as those in FIG. 1 indicate corresponding parts, and the bearing 32a fitted to the upper end of the intermediate shaft 15 is of a normal type, not a grease-filled (sealed) type. An oil groove 60 is provided on the inner surface of the cover 31a at the upper end of the fixed case 16. The oil groove 60 is formed by cutting out a part of the inner peripheral surface of a counterbore hole 59 for fitting the bearing 32a provided in the cover 31a, and is located on the center side of the vehicle body (left side in the figure) with respect to the bearing 32a. The position generally extends vertically, and the upper end is the gap 6 between the upper end surface of the bearing 32a and the opposing inner surface of the cover 31a.
1, the lower end opens directly above the tooth row of the bevel gear 43, and widens as it goes downward.
An oil hole 62 is provided in the center of the king pin 33a, and a gap 61 is provided through the oil hole 62 to the king pin 33.
It communicates with the gap 63 above a. A gap 63 is formed between the upper end surface of the king pin 33a and the opposing inner surface of the hole 34 of the knuckle arm 36,
It communicates with the upper end surface of the bush 35. Note that the inner surface 60a of the bent portion of the oil groove 60 and the inner surface 62a of the lower end opening of the oil hole 62 are rounded, so that when oil droplets run up the inner surface as described later, the oil droplets can smoothly run without leaving a trace. It's meant to be conveyed.

When the drive shaft 42 rotates, the bevel gear 43 at the tip scoops up the oil 55 and scatters it.
A part of the oil 55 scattered upward passes through the oil groove 60 and enters into the gap 61. A part of the oil 55 that has reached the gap 61 flows up the inner surface of the oil hole 62 due to vibrations of the vehicle body, passes through the gap 63, and reaches the bush 3.
5 (sliding surface of the king pin 33a), and the remaining oil 55 flows down into the bearing 32a. Note that since the oil groove 60 widens as it goes downward as described above, the amount of oil 55 that scatters into the oil groove 60 is increased as much as possible. When the oil level A fluctuates due to the inclination of the vehicle body, the oil 55 may drop into the gap 6, for example.
1, a part of it flows up the inner surface of the oil hole 62 and reaches the bush 35, and the rest flows down into the bearing 32a.

As explained above, according to the present invention, cover 3
An oil groove 60 is provided on the inner surface of the king pin 33a.
An oil hole 62 is provided inside, and the oil 55 scattered by the gear 43 is guided to the bearing 32a through the oil groove 60, and further to the bush 35 through the oil hole 62, so that the bearing 32a and the bush 35 are lubricated with grease. This eliminates the need for bearings 32a, allowing a normal type bearing to be used, and also eliminating the need to provide a grease nipple, reducing manufacturing costs and simplifying maintenance and inspection work.

In the present invention, a space directly above the bevel gear 43 on the drive shaft side is communicated with a gap 61 directly above the upper surface of the bearing 32a, and an oil groove 60 is provided with a wide oil groove whose bottom surface smoothly rises as it moves toward the gap 61 side. An oil hole 62 is provided in the bottom end of which is enlarged in a rattling shape, and the bottom end is inserted into the gap 6.
1, and the upper end communicates with the outer peripheral sliding surface of the king pin 33a through the gap 63 directly above the top surface of the king pin, so that the bevel gear 43
A large amount of the oil 55 splashed upward is captured by the oil groove 60 that spreads downward, and moreover, the oil groove 60 whose bottom surface (the top surface in the figure) rises smoothly, and the oil 55 that is splashed upward is quickly captured by the inertial force at the time of diving into the gap 61. With its momentum, the oil flows through the rippled inner surface 62a and into the oil hole 62, and thereafter, a large amount of oil flows up the inner surface of the oil hole 62 due to the vertical movement of the king pin 33a during travel.
The oil that has reached the upper end surface of the king pin 33a from the oil hole 62 accumulates in the lower part of the gap 63 and is supplied to the sliding surface between the bush 35 and the king pin 33a. In this way, the oil groove 60, the gap 61, the oil hole 62
The inertia force of the oil splashed by the bevel gear 43 is effectively used due to the special shape (especially the lower end opening, bottom shape, etc.), and this oil is transferred to the king pin 3.
With the help of the vertical vibration of oil 3a, the oil actively flows upward through the oil hole 62, and the relatively large capacity gap 6
3, the lubrication of the outer peripheral sliding surface of the king pin is ensured. Furthermore, since the oil passage shape within the king pin 33a is only improved, there is no need to prepare separate parts, and the number of assembly steps remains unchanged.
Since the left and right intermediate shafts 15 have a downwardly expanding shape when viewed from the front, the bearing 32a and the gap 61 directly above it are also lower on the bevel gear 43 side, so the oil groove 60 and the gap 6 are lower.
It is also easy to smoothly raise the bottom surface of the oil passage consisting of 1 toward the oil hole 62 side.

Furthermore, in the present invention, the oil groove 60 is provided by cutting out the inner surface of the center side of the vehicle body of the counterbore hole 59 for bearing fitting at the upper end of the stationary case. The oil groove 60 can be made along with the counterbore hole 59 for the bearing 32a, and since no separate parts are required, it can be assembled easily and inexpensively. This has the advantage of being able to connect smoothly and supplying as much oil as possible that has been splashed by the bevel gear 43. In addition, since the bearing 32a can be lubricated by the oil splashed up by the bevel gear 43, a normal type bearing 32 (which allows oil to flow through balls, rollers, etc. between the inner race and the outer race), which is not a grease-filled type, is used as the bearing 32a. This also makes the structure simple and inexpensive. Since the gaps 61 and 63 are formed to be large enough to serve as passages for the oil splashed up by the bevel gear 43, the resistance when guiding oil to the bush 35 using the inertia and viscosity of the oil is reduced, improving lubrication performance. will improve.
