A conventional weft detection device for a fluid jet loom has a pair of light emitting element and light receiving element installed on the opposite side of a weft jet nozzle, and the light traveling between the two elements is blocked by the normally flying weft. There is a known device that detects the presence or reflection of the weft yarn and determines whether or not the weft insertion is successful. In the case of such a weft thread detection device, conventionally, an operation start signal for activating the weft thread detection device is generated immediately before weft insertion is completed to put the weft thread detection device into the operating state, and then further after weft insertion is completed. Immediately before beating starts, an operation end signal is generated to put the weft yarn detection device into an inoperable state. By inserting the weft between both elements of the weft detection device between the generation of this operation start signal and the generation of the operation end signal,
As described above, the interruption of the light is detected, thereby forming a rising edge of the weft detection signal indicating that the weft has been inserted normally, and further forming a falling edge of the weft detection signal by the operation end signal. Ta. Based on the presence or absence of this weft detection signal, it is determined whether or not the weft insertion has been performed normally, and if the weft insertion has not been performed normally, the operation of the loom is stopped.

However, the weft yarn detection device as described above has the following drawbacks. That is, immediately after weft insertion is completed, the tip of the weft yarn is unstable and wobbles, so that it is likely that the weft yarn will cross over and over again between both elements of the weft yarn detection device. For this reason, the formation of the rising edge of the weft detection signal, which is used to determine whether or not weft insertion has been carried out normally, becomes uncertain, and the loom stops even though weft insertion is normal. Malfunctions such as so-called blank weaving, in which the loom did not stop operating even though it was incomplete, were likely to occur.

Devices have been proposed to eliminate these malfunctions such as dead stop and dry start. That is, by providing a feeler device consisting of the pair of light-emitting elements and light-receiving elements on the air guide located in front of the reed and fixed to the sled together with the reed, the weft threads are pulled out from the warp openings of the air guide as the reed is beaten. The weft yarns will block the light generated by the light emitting elements as they move. There is a device that blocks the light generated by the light emitting element by the normally inserted weft, generates a weft detection signal, and determines whether weft insertion has been performed normally. However, even with such a device, it has been impossible to detect cases where the weft yarn that has flown from the weft injection nozzle is broken midway, or when so-called body breakage occurs.

The present invention relates to a fluid injection type loom in which a weft detection device is provided on the opposite side of a weft injection nozzle, and the weft detection method is to activate the weft detection device (for example, a pair of light emitting element and light receiving element) after weft insertion is completed. In this state, the rising part of the weft detection signal is reliably formed, and the rising part of the weft detection signal is formed by pulling the weft in the opposite direction to the weft insertion direction during the operating state, and the success or failure of weft insertion is determined. It is something to judge.

Further, in a weft yarn detection device for a fluid jet loom that implements the method of the present invention, a pair of light emitting elements and a light receiving element detect changes in the amount of light caused by a normally inserted weft yarn, and detect the weft insertion. It is provided to judge the success or failure of the process. As methods for detecting changes in the amount of light, there are two methods: one that detects the interruption of light by a normally inserted weft, and the other that detects the reflection of light by a normally inserted weft. Further, the weft detection device of the present invention is provided with a pulling device that pulls the weft by an appropriate length in a direction opposite to the weft insertion direction. Furthermore, in the weft detection device of the present invention, the operation start signal is generated after weft insertion is completed, and the operation end signal is generated at an appropriate time after the operation start signal is generated and before the beating starts. is configured so that it is generated.

Therefore, according to the present invention, the weft detection device is activated when the weft insertion is completed and the inserted weft is stabilized, so that the rising of the weft detection signal can be reliably formed, and furthermore, the operation end signal can be generated. Since the inserted weft is pulled in a direction opposite to the weft insertion direction by the pulling device before generation, the inserted weft is pulled out from between the two elements, thereby reliably forming a falling edge of the weft detection signal. I can do it. In addition, in the case of body breakage, even if the traction device works, the weft tip is not pulled out from the detection position, so a falling edge of the weft detection signal is not formed, and the difference in the shape of this weft detection signal causes body breakage. It became possible to detect.

FIG. 1 shows the timing at which a weft detection signal is generated by the weft detection method according to the present invention. In the figure, at time t 1 when weft insertion is complete, the tip of the weft thread is wobbling, so at time t 2 when this wobbling has subsided, a filler operation start signal is generated. Then, at an appropriate time t3 before the filler operation end signal is generated (between times t2 and t4 ), the weft is pulled in the opposite direction to the weft insertion. This forms the rise and fall of the feeler signal.

A weft controller (not shown) is provided, which is disclosed in the filed patent application no. This weft controller has a function of pulling the inserted weft yarn in a direction opposite to the weft insertion direction at an appropriate time t3 after weft insertion is completed and the operation start signal is generated, but before the operation end signal is generated. It is something.

The weft yarn Y flung by the main nozzle reaches the weft yarn detection section 2 via a reed groove provided in the reed. When the weft insertion is completed normally, the weft yarn Y reaches the position indicated by the dotted line in FIG. 2. Immediately after the weft insertion is completed, the tip of the weft Y is wobbly, so the timing when the wobbling of the weft Y tip has subsided after the weft insertion is completed is appropriately selected, and at this time the operation start signal for the weft detection devices 21 and 22 is generated. Ru. As a result, the pair of light-emitting element 21, light-receiving element 21, and light-receiving element 22 start detecting the weft Y, and a rising edge of the weft detection signal is formed. After issuing the operation start signal and before beating is performed, the weft yarn Y is pulled in the opposite direction to the weft insertion by the action of the weft controller provided on the weft injection nozzle side.

As a result, the inserted weft Y is pulled out from between the pair of light emitting elements 21 and light receiving elements 22, and the inserted weft Y is retreated to the position shown by the solid line in FIG. Therefore, at this time, a falling edge of the weft detection signal is formed. This allows the inserted weft to be detected.

Further, after the weft is pulled and before beating is performed, an operation end signal is outputted to stop the operation of the weft detecting device. The weft yarn detection device stops detecting the weft yarn Y by outputting the operation end signal.

As is clear from the above description, according to the present invention, as long as the weft insertion is normal, it is possible to reliably form the rising and falling edges of the weft detection signal, so it is possible to perform the weft detection operation without malfunction. become.
In addition, in the case of weft thread breakage such as shot pick or bed pick, there is no rising of the weft detection signal, and furthermore, in the case of weft thread breakage such as body breakage, there is no fall of the weft detection signal, making it possible to reliably detect failure in weft thread insertion. I can know.

As is clear from the above description, according to the present invention, a feeler operation start signal is generated when the tip of the weft is positioned after weft insertion is completed, and then the weft is pulled in the opposite direction to the weft insertion. Since the rise and fall of the filler signal is formed, it is possible to provide a weft yarn detection device for a shuttleless loom that does not cause malfunction and can detect body breakage.
