Recently, dedicated car carriers have been developed to transport large quantities of cars by sea, but these dedicated ships have multi-layered decks with low heights (in other words, low ceilings) to accommodate large numbers of cars. The vehicle is configured such that a vehicle can be stored between the multi-layered decks by running on its own or being towed, and can be transported in the same manner.
It is not suitable for transporting general cargo other than automobiles. This resulted in the uneconomical situation of having to travel fully loaded with cars on the outbound journey, but empty on the return journey.

Containers for maritime transport are conceivable as cargo that can be stored between multi-layered decks with narrow clearance for loading onto automobiles using this return route, but according to the conventional loading/unloading method, containers are loaded using forklifts. In order to do this, in addition to the height of the container, space for the forklift is required in the vertical direction.
In addition, since the container is transported on a fork so that its longitudinal direction is perpendicular to the traveling direction of the forklift, a wide passage is required, and it is difficult to carry the container in a passageway with narrow vertical and horizontal clearance, such as on a car carrier. It is impossible to remove it. In addition, the method of transporting containers by hanging them from above using a crane, or the method of loading and unloading containers by loading them on a trolley or framework such as a trailer, cannot be applied to multi-layered decks with narrow clearances, and are only used for transport by automobiles. There was no way to bring containers in and out of the ship, and it was common knowledge that ships dedicated to transporting automobiles would sail one way with no cargo.

This invention breaks the conventional wisdom and allows containers to be loaded onto the multi-layered deck of a car carrier with narrow clearance, making it possible to effectively utilize the ship as a car carrier on the outward journey and as a container ship on the return journey. Then, a moving trolley having rolling rollers at the bottom and sufficient to support the weight of the container is attached to the four corners of the bottom of the container using the holes of the corner fittings provided at the four corners of the bottom of the container, and the container with the moving trolley is installed. This invention provides a method for carrying in and out of a container for a specialized car transport ship, which is characterized by being towed and carried in and out between the multi-layered decks of the ship.

3 is a moving trolley sufficient to support the weight of the container (see JIS Z1614), and a bracket 1 is installed at the bottom of the trolley.
A roller 5 is rotatably attached via the roller 0. The upper surface of the main body 4 of the mobile cart 3 is the container 1
The flat surface 4a is adapted to fit the lower surface of the corner fittings 2 provided at the four corners of the bottom. A vertically protruding member having a shape that fits the hole of the corner fitting 2 is provided at the center of the plane 4a. The vertically protruding member is composed of a circular protrusion 6 with an arc notch fixed to the center of the plane 4a, and a rotating head 7 having the same bottom shape as the protrusion 6.

The central part of the protrusion 6 is perforated in the vertical direction,
A vertically extending rotating shaft 8 is connected to the bottom of the rotating head 7 and is rotatably fitted into the bore. The rotating shaft 8 is connected to a lever 9 in a perpendicular direction within the hollow part of the main body 4 of the movable trolley 3. The rotating head 7 is fitted into a hole in the corner fitting 2, and has a shape that allows the movable cart 3 and the container 1 to be connected without being separated by rotation thereof.

According to the method of the present invention, before loading a container into a car carrier, the movable trolley 3 is moved into the four corners of the bottom of the container by using the holes of the corner fittings 2 provided at the four corners of the bottom of the container. By fitting the fitting at the end of the rope of a winch or tractor into the hole in the corner fitting 2 at the lower front of the container, and towing the container, the rollers 5 will roll onto the container 1.

In order to attach the four movable carts 3 to the four corners of the bottom of the container 1, it is sufficient to fit the vertical protruding member provided at the center of the upper surface of the main body 4 into the hole of each corner fitting 2. The lower surface of the main body 4 of the moving trolley 3
Since the flat surface 4a of the upper surface is fitted, the upper surfaces 4a of the four main bodies 4 of the movable carts 3 are all located on the same plane, and there is no possibility of an uneven load occurring. In addition, as mentioned above, vertically protruding members are based on ISO (international standards) and
It has a shape that fits into the hole of the corner fitting 2 specified by JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards), and is provided in the center of the plane 4a, so it can be connected to the bottom surface of the corner fitting 2 without any special operation. Since the upper surface of the main body 4 of the movable trolley 3 can be fitted, and the movable trolley 3 is sufficient to support the weight of the container, the container 1 can be towed as if it had wheels. It can be stored and mounted on a multi-layered deck with limited clearance, just like a car.
As detailed above, the present invention includes a forklift,
We installed a container moving trolley, which was previously impossible to transport without a crane or trailer, and found a way to easily carry the container into and out of the multi-layered deck for storing onboard vehicles, which has narrow clearances, by towing the container with the moving trolley. Now, with the completion of the loading/unloading method of the present invention, a car transport ship, which had conventionally been common knowledge to sail one way with empty cargo, can now be used as a car carrier for the outbound trip.
On the return journey, it can be used as a container carrier, and the energy saving effect is significant. Moreover,
Since the existing corner fittings are used as they are without making any changes to the container itself, which is the object to be transported, it is extremely economical and greatly contributes to reducing transportation costs.

The present invention is also extremely advantageous when a container containing automobile parts is transported together with an automobile.
