Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a starting characteristic ever so better, by forcedly opening a valve, which opens in time of generation of suction negative pressure out of a gas pressure regulator in an LPG engine, with the pressure produced by driving a compressor in time of engine starting. CONSTITUTION:An air-fuel mixture is taken in an LPG engine 1 through an air cleaner 9, a suction pipe 3, an LPG mixer 7, a throttle body 5 and a suction manifold 4. Gas is fed to the mixer 7 from a gas tank via a gas pressure regulator 14 and a pipe 15, while the regulator 14 is provided with a vacuum lock valve to be opened by negative pressure out of a pipe 18 feeding the negative pressure of the suction manifold 4. A compressor 19 to be driven together with a starter in time of engine starting and its pipe line 20 are installed in parallel with the pipe 18, and even when sufficient negative pressure is not generated out of the suction manifold 4 and a vacuum lock is not released, the vacuum lock is forcedly released owing to pressure air out of the compressor.

``Prior art'' Conventionally, LPG engines connect the intake manifold and regulator with a vacuum hose, and release the vacuum lock on the regulator using the negative pressure generated in the engine body to release LPG.
Although it is configured to allow fuel to flow, when the engine starts, the negative pressure generated in the engine body is weak, making it difficult to completely release the vacuum lock of the regulator. For this reason, there was a drawback that the LPG fuel did not flow easily and it was difficult to start the engine. Also, since the engine would not start, there was a drawback that if the starter motor was used for a long time, the battery would die and the blade would not be able to start.

In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, reference numeral 1 denotes an engine body attached to a vehicle body 2. In the embodiment shown in FIGS. Reference numeral 3 denotes an intake device attached to the engine body 1, and this intake device 3 has an intake manifold 4 connected to the engine body 1, and an interior connected to the upstream side of this intake manifold 4, which can be opened and closed by operating the accelerator. a throttle valve 5 to which a throttle valve (not shown) is attached; and an LPG fuel mixer 7 having a protruding connecting portion 6 connected to the upstream side of the throttle valve 5 and to which LPG fuel is supplied. and an air cleaner 9 attached to the upstream side of this LPG fuel mixer 7 via a flexible pipe 8. Reference numeral 10 denotes an LPG fuel supply device connected to the LPG fuel mixer 7, and this LPG fuel supply device @10 includes an LPG container main body 11 containing liquid LPG fuel,
A regulator 14 that vaporizes LPG is connected to this LPG container body 11 via a filter 12 and a solenoid valve 13.
and a conduit 15 connected from the regulator 14 to the mixer section 6 for the LPG 15 material mixer. Reference numeral 16 denotes a vibrator, one of which is connected to the regulator 14 and the other of which is connected to the radiator 17 via the engine body 1, for warming the regulator 14. 18 is the regulator 1 connected to the intake manifold 4 on one side and the regulator 14 on the other side;
This is a vacuum hose that releases the vacuum lock in step 4. Reference numeral 19 denotes a starting pump attached to the vehicle body 2 or the like, and this starting pump 19 is interposed between the regulator 14 and the vacuum hose 20 that connects the intake manifold 4. The starting pump 19 is connected to a battery 21 in parallel with a starter motor 23 via an ignition switch 22 so that it can be driven only during starting.

On the other hand, the purified air from the air cleaner 9 flows into the LPG fuel mixer 7 through the flexible pipe 8, and within the LPG fuel mixer 7, 1. The mixture is mixed with the PG fuel to form an air-fuel mixture, which is further guided into the engine body 1 via the throttle body 5 and the intake manifold 4, and the engine is started. When the engine starts, the starter motor 23 is turned off and the starting pump 19 is also turned off. The engine is driven by releasing and holding the vacuum lock 14 with a vacuum hose 18 connected to the intake manifold 4.
