Abstract

PURPOSE:To hold the level of a melted plating metal incorporated in the melting vessel of the plating metal to a specified position by providing a level sensor to the melting vessel of the plating metal in the plating device of melted metal and melting the ingot of the plating metal in the position of the surface of the melted metal detected with the sensor. CONSTITUTION:The molten 5 of the melted plating metal such as Sn incorporated in the melting vessel 7 of metal is fed to the inside of a hot dipping vessel 1 and a wire 2 to be plated such as a copper wire is passed and Sn is plated on the surface. In such a case, the oxidation of the melted Sn is prevented by making the melting vessel of Sn a closed type and making the inside thereof the inert gas atmosphere. Also two pieces of level sensor 9, 10 different in the tip positions are provided and the surface level of the melted Sn incorporated in the vessel 7 is detected and the descent of a melted metal surface of the melted Sn 5 is sensed with the sensor 9 and a heater 11 melting an ingot 6 is electrically conducted. When the surface of the melted metal is ascended by the melting of the Sn ingot, it is detected with the sensor 10 and the electric conduction of the heater 11 for melting the Sn ingot 6 is stopped.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [Field of Industrial Application] The present invention relates to a method for controlling the liquid level of molten metal in a melting tank for plating which is isolated from the outside air.

Conventionally, in a hot dip apparatus for plating metal filaments and the like, a metal dissolving tank also serves as a hot dip tank. That is, as shown in FIG. 1, the linear body 2 is made to run through the molten metal 5 poured into the tank 1, and the direction of the linear body is changed by the guide roller 3, and the die 4 is used to firmly adhere the linear body. Plating is performed by squeezing out excess metal. In this method, the tank 1 is in an open state and the molten metal 5 is exposed to the atmosphere, and the molten metal adheres to the outer periphery of the filament 2 and is plated, so that the liquid level of the molten metal gradually decreases. To prevent this, solid metal (ingot) 6 is replenished into the molten metal 5, and the solid metal is melted at the heating temperature of the molten metal, thereby maintaining the liquid level of the molten metal at a specified level.

Therefore, when the molten metal comes into contact with air, it inevitably generates tin oxide, making the molten metal impure and significantly reducing the quality of the plated wire. Also, by replenishing the solid metal into the molten metal for a while, when the solid metal melts, it absorbs heat and lowers the temperature of the molten metal, which does not adversely affect the quality of the plating. Furthermore, the operator has to replenish the solid metal while monitoring the decrease in the liquid level of the molten metal with the naked eye, making the work difficult.

As a result of extensive research in view of the current situation, the present invention has been developed by melting solid metal in a closed melting tank that is isolated from the outside air, and at the same time, the level of the molten metal decreases. This is a method of replenishing.

In the eggplant of the present invention, an ingot and an ingot heater are installed inside or outside a closed metal melting tank into which molten metal for plating is poured without coming into contact with the molten metal, and a level sensor for controlling the molten metal level is installed in the melting tank. The heater is linked with a level sensor, the liquid level of the molten metal is detected by the sensor, and the molten metal is adjusted to a specified liquid level while melting the ingot and controlling the amount of metal melted. It is something to do.

In the present invention, the ingot and the ingot heater do not necessarily need to be installed inside the metal melting tank, but may be installed outside the nuclide (in that case, a separate melting chamber shut off from the outside air is provided, and the melting chamber and ingot heater are installed outside the metal melting tank. It is preferable to connect the dissolution tank with a communication pipe.

In addition, the level sensor detects fluctuations in the level of the molten metal as it is deposited on the surface of the filament to be plated, and is designed to maintain the level of the molten metal within a constant range at all times. It is. Therefore, two sensors are usually installed with a desired difference in level, one at the position where the tip reaches the highest liquid level, and the other at the position where the tip reaches the lowest liquid level. Just leave it there. A heater is placed inside the sensor to prevent the molten metal from adhering to the sensor and solidifying it, thereby preventing malfunctions.

As shown in FIG. 2, in the apparatus consisting of a metal melting tank 7 sealed off from outside air and filled with inert gas and a hot dip tank 1, the molten metal, for example, tin 5 in the melting tank 7 is pumped 8. Then, it was sent to the tank 1, and was plated by contacting and depositing it on a filament to be plated, for example, a steel wire 2, running in the tank.

Thus, the level of the molten metal 5 in the melting tank 7 gradually decreases by the amount of plating applied to the filament to be plated. In the melting tank 7, level sensors 9 and 10 are provided with a desired difference in level so as to be in contact with the molten metal 5, while the solid metal 6 is provided at a position that does not come into contact with the molten metal.

As mentioned above, the molten metal 5 is lowered and the molten metal liquid level is detected by the level sensor 9.
The ingot heater 11 is activated by the ingot heater 11, which heats and melts the ingot and the ingot, which become molten metal and flow into the melting tank 7, so that the liquid level of the molten metal in the tank gradually increases. When it rises and reaches the level sensor 10, it is automatically disconnected from the ingot heater 11, heating of the input 6 is stopped, and the inflow of molten metal is terminated. The method of the present invention replenishes molten metal by repeating such operations.

As detailed above, according to the method of the present invention, no slag is generated in the molten metal, so that the plated product has excellent quality and is free from loss. Further, since the molten metal for replenishment is replenished after the solid metal has been melted, there is no change in temperature of the molten metal, and there is no adverse effect on the plating quality. Furthermore, since the molten metal can be replenished automatically and quickly, there are significant effects such as a marked improvement in work efficiency.
