Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a stable rolling bearing capable of being used in molten- sodium in which lubricating function becomes inferior by providing grooves on the rolling element contact surfaces of inner and outer rings and holes connecting to those grooves so as to supply lubricant from both the holes and the grooves. CONSTITUTION:Flow passages 6 and 7 are provided in the inner ring 1 and outer ring 2 from the lower part to the middle part respectively so as to communicate with balls 3 and grooves 8 and 9 provided to the circular-arc-shaped grooves which are to be respective contact surfaces. Thus, lubricant 5 is supplied not only from the gap formed by the inner ring 1 and the outer ring 2 but also from the flow passages 6, 7 and grooves 8, 9, and accordingly, even in molten-sodium in which lubricating function becomes inferior, this can be used as a stable rolling bearing. Further, in the case of ordinary lubricating oil, the operating pressure of a lubricating oil supply apparatus can be lowered.

Rolling bearings are widely used as bearings that support the rotating shafts of motors, pumps, etc. Figure 7 shows a conventional example of a rolling bearing that uses balls as rolling elements. A ball 3 and a holder 4 are arranged in an annular space constructed by a person.

There are about 41 balls 3, arranged regularly. On the outer periphery of the inner ring 1 and the inner periphery of the outer ring 2 with which the balls 3 come into contact, arc-shaped arcs 4 are provided over the entire circumference to serve as guides when the plurality of balls 3 are transferred. Normally, the inner ring 1ri and its inner ring III are fixed to a rotating shaft through which gIL passes, and rotate together with the rotating shaft. On the other hand, the outer ring 2 is fixed to a fixed bearing stand or the like.

The motion of the rotating inner ring 1 is maintained by the ball 3 disposed between the inner ring 1 and the outer ring 2 moving the arcuate 4. The stability of the rotating shaft in the radial direction or perpendicular direction is supported by the fact that the balls 3 are in contact with the inner ring 1 and the outer ring 2 while rolling. This is to prevent the arrangement of the A number 1 balls 3 transferred to the cage 4rt from being disrupted. The rolling of the ball 3 is performed smoothly by supplying lubricant 5 to the contact surfaces between the ball 3 and the inner ring 1 and outer ring 2. The lubricant 5 is usually oil. Rolling bearings suitable for supporting such rotating shafts are difficult to be adopted as bearings for rotating shafts and driving force transmission shafts in industrial equipment such as wall-mounted sodium pumps and fuel transfer mechanisms. The reason for this is that the lubricity of molten sodium, which serves as a lubricant, is inferior to that of oil. The performance of lubricants depends on the viscosity of the lubricant. To explain this with reference to FIG. 7, the synovial membrane formed at the contact surface between the ball 3 and the inner ring 1 or outer ring 2 is formed by the lubricant 5 drawn in by the transfer of the ball 3.

trt of the lubricant 5 drawn in, @ Determines the viscosity of the lubricant 5, and the lower the viscosity, the smaller the amount of the lubricant 5 supplied to the contact surface. Comparing the viscosity of lubricating oil and sodium, the latter is less than 1/10 of the former, and ball 3 and inner ring 1
Alternatively, it is difficult to supply enough sodium to form the lubricant 5 to form a sufficient lubricant film over the entire contact surface with the outer ring 2. With the above-mentioned background as a background, the present invention relates to a rolling bearing that can be used even with a lubricant having poor lubrication performance. In conventional rolling bearings, the rolling elements (between two balls, etc.) and the inner,
Lubricant was supplied to the contact surface with the outer ring through a gap (annulus-shaped space) formed by the inner and outer rings. The present invention not only supplies the lubricant through the gap, but also provides a flow path provided in the axial direction of the inner and outer rings, and an arc-shaped adjacent area that is the contact surface between the inner and outer rings and the ball, which communicates with the flow path. It is designed so that it can also be supplied from a thin 4 provided at the top.

Several examples have been described above. According to this embodiment, compared to a conventional rolling bearing, the amount of lubricant supplied to the surfaces that contact the balls and the inner and outer rings is increased, and more stable rolling bearing motion can be obtained. The embodiments shown in FIGS. 5 and 6 are likely to vibrate due to the unevenness of the contact surface, making them difficult to use in high-speed rotation bearings, but they are effective for low-speed rotation.

According to the present invention, even with a lubricant with poor lubricity, such as molten sodium e4, the contact between the rolling elements and the inner and outer rings is lower than in conventional rolling bearings. Since lubricant can be abundantly supplied to the IT surface, it becomes a very stable rolling bearing. In addition, even with a normal oil-lubricated rolling bearing, since lubricant can be abundantly supplied to the rolling resistance generating surface, it is possible to lower the operating pressure of the g-lubrication oil supply device.
