2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, there is a widely used detection device that includes a light source and a light receiving element, and detects displacement or the amount of change by blocking the optical path from the light source. An example of such a device is shown in FIG. 1. In the figure, a detection device base 1 is a light source 2 such as a light emitting diode or a lamp.
and a phototransistor corresponding to the light source 2.
It has a light receiving element 3 such as CdS, and furthermore, these light sources 2
A blocking member 4 that rotates due to an external force is interposed between the element 3 and the element 3 . The blocking member 4 is a part of a blocking unit 5, and the unit 5 is rotatable around a rotating shaft 6. When the cam portion 7 of the unit 5 on the side opposite to the member 4 is rotated clockwise, At the same time, the blocking member 4 is rotated clockwise so that the blocking member 4 completely blocks the optical path and emits a detection signal. The device shown in the figure is an example in which a light emitting diode and a phototransistor are used. Each element is embedded in resin by molding, and 8 in the figure is a printed circuit board for outputting signals from each element as detection signals. show. Further, the unit 5 may be driven by the passage of the sheet material, the presence of a cassette in which the sheet materials are accumulated, the presence of an original, the weight of the developer, etc.

By the way, in the detection device section 1 produced by molding as described above, the gap between the light source 2 and the light receiving element 3 is generally relatively narrow, being 5 mm or less, or even several mm. Therefore, the thickness of the blocking member 4 interposed between these elements is further reduced, and a thin metal plate is used as the material. By the way, if the shape of the shutoff unit 5 is small and complicated, or if consideration is given to reducing the number of assembly steps and manufacturing costs, it is advantageous to mold the shutoff member from resin as well. However, when conventional resin is molded into a thin plate of several millimeters or less, the amount of permeation increases and it no longer functions as a blocking member. This also applies to the black resin obtained by mixing a black coating material with a conventionally used molding resin, and the above-mentioned problem becomes particularly noticeable when the thickness of the blocking member is 1 mm or less.

In order to achieve the above object, the present invention comprises the optical path blocking member made of a resin containing a light diffusing member, and the blocking member blocks the optical path using an external driving force or is moved away from the optical path to displace the object. It detects the amount. This invention makes it possible to mold the above-mentioned blocking member without making it thicker than conventional ones even in high-light-intensity type photoelectric detection devices using lamp CdS, and also in low-light-intensity type photoelectric detection devices such as light-emitting diodes. Also, a blocking member that can be interposed between these elements can be molded from resin. This makes it possible to reduce manufacturing costs by reducing the number of assembly steps, and to realize an inexpensive, compact photoelectric detection device.

In an embodiment of the present invention, the shutoff unit 5 shown in FIG. 1 was manufactured. Actually, since the gap between the light source and the light receiving element was 3 mm, it was decided to mold the blocking unit 5 having the blocking member 4 of 1 mm. The material is polyacetal resin (product name: Delrin), which is a formaldehyde polymer.
Approximately 0.5 g of glass fiber having a spherical light-diffusing effect with a diameter of 7 to 9 μm was added to 1 c.c. As a result, even if the blocking member 4 was 1 mm or less and 0.5 mm thick, it was possible to block light from a normal light emitting diode.

In addition to the resins used in the above embodiments, any resin that can be conventionally molded can be used in combination with the light diffusing member even if it does not have a light shielding function as described above. Furthermore, even better effects can be obtained by using a coating material such as the above-mentioned black which absorbs light. It goes without saying that the operation of the blocking member is not limited to rotational movement, but may also be reciprocating movement.
