Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to remove remaining papers easily, by detecting an abnormal feeding condition of papers and their remaining positions after a complete stop of the system, and displaying them in the illustration of the delivery route and the like, in an automatic bill register, etc. CONSTITUTION:At adequate positions in an insert and reception member 1, sorting and feeding member 2, primary storages 3 and 4, take-in box 5, a bill detector 6, and a paper passage 8 through assortment safes 10-13, are arranged paper detecting sensors S1-S19. In the movement of the system, if a sensor in the upper stream acts properly and the sensor at the immediately lower stream does not detect the paper in a given time, an abnormality is displayed to stop a carrier motor 20. After the system is stopped completely, the disturbance of the bill feeding is displayed in a code, as well as the display is lighted to show the abnormal positions and the remaining paper positions depending on the signals from the sensors S1-S19. Thus, detecting and removing works of papers can be carried out easily.

The automatic deposit/withdrawal machine has a deposit function and a withdrawal function. The deposit function is to feed the membership banknotes inserted into the deposit part one by one, accept the banknotes that have been identified as genuine, or accept the banknotes that have been identified as genuine. The withdrawal function separates and feeds banknotes one by one from the withdrawal box in the automatic deposit/withdrawal machine, and prevents duplicate bills from being sent out or mixed bills of different types. The banknotes are temporarily stored while being judged as abnormal, and then transported to a reject box where banknotes have been identified as abnormal, and when a predetermined number of banknotes are temporarily stored in the reject box, all of these banknotes are paid out.

At this time, in conventional automatic teller machines, if the passage of banknotes is not confirmed within a specified time during separation feeding and transport by detection sensors installed at various locations, the transport motor is immediately stopped and the operation panel etc. In addition to displaying a fault status code indicating that a banknote jam has occurred on the provided code display section,
Depending on the location where the bill could not be confirmed to have passed within the specified time, the remaining location of the bill is displayed using illustrations such as ■ and ED lamps.

However, in such a conventional example, the conveyance operation cannot be immediately stopped when an abnormality occurs due to the inertia of the power source and the conveyance mechanism. For this reason, even if the abnormal location is inspected after the conveyance operation is stopped, the banknote that caused the abnormality may have moved further beyond that location, and the banknote may not be found. Furthermore, in this type of automatic deposit/withdrawal machine, a plurality of banknotes are simultaneously traveling at different positions within the banknote conveyance path in order to perform deposit/withdrawal processing operations at high speed. Therefore, if an abnormality occurs and the operation is stopped, a plurality of banknotes will be present in the paper sheet conveyance path. Therefore, when the conveyance operation resumes, these multiple banknotes become mixed with newly deposited or withdrawn banknotes and become indistinguishable, and the number of banknotes counted after the conveyance operation resumes is different from that in the automatic deposit/withdrawal machine. There is a problem that there is a discrepancy between the number of banknotes and the actual number of banknotes.

In addition, if you want to know the position of paper sheets in the paper sheet transport path 8 and the abnormality occurrence position in more detail, you can increase the number of detection sensors and lighting units and narrow the arrangement interval of the detection sensors. For example, by arranging detection sensors at banknote length intervals, it is possible to completely know the position of banknotes in the sheet conveyance path 8. Further, in this embodiment, the code display section 22 is used to distinguish between the abnormality detection position and the paper sheet remaining position on the display section 21, but for example, the lighting sections Ll to L indicating the abnormality detection position are used.
Alternatively, the abnormality detection position and the paper sheet remaining position may be displayed in different colors. Furthermore, although the automatic deposit/withdrawal machine has been described in this embodiment, it may be used in other automatic devices such as an optical character reader.

As described above, the paper sheet feeding abnormality notification device according to the present invention not only detects the abnormality in the feeding of paper sheets, but also detects the remaining position of all sheets after the conveying means is completely stopped due to this detection. The detection sensor is equipped with a detection sensor that detects the abnormality detected by the detection sensor, and a display section that displays the abnormality detection position and paper sheet remaining position detected by the detection sensor using an illustration of the paper sheet transport path, etc. When an abnormality in the feeding of paper sheets is detected, the abnormality detection position is displayed on the display and the conveyance means is stopped. The detection sensor detects the remaining positions of all paper sheets after the conveyance means has completely stopped, and can be displayed on the display. Therefore, the following effects are achieved.
