。[Detailed Description of the Invention] [Industrial Application Field] The present invention relates to a training start point detection method for identifying a training start point by detecting a carrier of a received signal sent via a line. In particular, the present invention relates to a training start point detection method for a modem that is improved so that the training start point can be correctly recognized on a line with a poor S/N ratio.

carrier) and transmit it, and the receiving side modulates it with 117
8 to obtain the desired data. For this reason, a 7'dem (modulator/demodulator) is installed on the transmitter/receiver side, which performs modulation and demodulation operations as well as signal demodulation according to the connected line conditions. A training signal with a predetermined pattern (Z signal) is transmitted from the transmitting side, and the receiving side uses this training signal to perform timing pull-in, AGC pull-in, and initial setting of the automatic equalizer.

Therefore, the training can be performed by detecting the occurrence of a carrier on the line. A training starting point detection method is used that recognizes the starting point of the signal.

レーニング信号の開始点を認識していた。The conventional training start point detection method will be explained with reference to the configuration diagram in FIG. 7 and the waveform diagram of each part in FIG. After being converted into an absolute value, unnecessary band components are removed by a low-pass filter 3, resulting in a DC level signal bs. This DC level signal bs is a relative level signal in which the level is low when there is no signal (no carrier) and high when there is a signal (with carrier). This DC level signal bs is delayed by a predetermined time in a delay section 4, and a delayed signal c3
At the same time, the difference between the DC level signal by the adder 6 and the signal b's by 1/nL is taken by the multiplier 5, and a signal corresponding to the level difference between no signal and with signal is obtained as ds in FIG. It is output at a positive level for the delay time. The determination unit 7 detects the start of the training signal at this positive level portion by polarity determination. Therefore, conventional training starting point detection methods recognize the starting point of a training signal by the relative level of signal energy on the line.

Therefore, when relative levels are determined by adding correlation output as in the present invention, the difference in level between no signal and signal is increased, and relative levels can be easily detected even on lines with poor S/N. Erroneous detection due to noise can be prevented.

If the transmission speed is 2400 bps, then the data will be changed in phase by +270° from the old data), as shown in Figure 3 (B).
As in, the next symbol (ne-data) has a phase shift of +-225° with respect to the previous symbol (old data).

, 2400 bps, -22,5° to the next symbol
Multiplying by the unit vector gives the same phase as the previous symbol, so the correlation of the training signals can be obtained (correlation exists). On the other hand, since noise does not have such regularity, no correlation can be obtained even if the phase is changed (there is no correlation).

It will be done. The reason why we use the sum of the cross-correlation output and the energy level signal instead of using only the cross-correlation output is because there are uncorrelated random signals in the data signal depending on the data content.
If only the cross-correlation output is used, the level will decrease significantly like noise, so in order to prevent this, an energy level signal is also used. Therefore, in the case of only noise,
The output level is large (decreased), whereas in the case of a training signal, the output level hardly changes, and for uncorrelated patterns in the data signal, the adder 10 can output a level signal with a slightly decreased output level.
更に、詳細に本発明を説明する。Further, the present invention will be explained in detail.

This also has the effect of reducing noise and correctly detecting the starting point of training by determining the relative level, which greatly contributes to expanding the range of application of modems that utilize this. Furthermore, since the training starting point can be detected accurately even on a line with a poor S/N ratio, training can be performed even on such a line, which also contributes to improving the reliability of data transmission. Moreover, it has the effect of being easy to realize, and is extremely useful in practice.
