It was necessary to switch the scanning method between when receiving a television signal and when receiving a teletext broadcast, but until now there was no way to switch automatically. Japanese Patent Publication No. 53-24245 can be mentioned.

When you do this, the flicker on the screen is noticeable because it is a still image such as a letter 9 figure. Therefore, when receiving a pattern signal, a circuit can be considered that takes advantage of the characteristic that the long signal has the same information between fields and shifts the vertical 5YNC to create a non-interlaced system and reduce the 7-bit error. We have invented a circuit configuration that automatically switches the scanning method by distinguishing between television signals and long signals.

There is a 6-bit pulse-like signal, and the length signal is processed in synchronization with the timing of this signal.

This signal part is integrated, and the comparison circuit 31 is set to a certain value, for example, half the level from the pedestal level to the white peak level, and the levels of the integrated and divided signals are compared and the set value is set. If it is less than the level, it is determined that the length signal does not exist, and if it is above the level, it is determined that the length signal is present.
