Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate projection of a direction indicator through utilization of a running wind, by a method wherein, in an indicator housed in an outer plate member, the rotary shaft of the indicator is located further backward than the position of the longitudinal direction, extending from the housing position to a projection position, of the surface of the direction indicator. CONSTITUTION:A direction indicator 1 is disposed to the side of a head lamp 3 mounting part of a cauling 2 in a manner that an outer side surface 1a thereof is positioned flush with the outer surface of the cauling 2 in a housed condition. A relation between an indication surface 4 of the direction indicator 1 and a rotary shaft 5 is set in a manner that a rotary shaft 5 is always situated in the rear from the display surface, and the rotary shaft 5 is positioned further backward than the longitudinal position of the indicator surface located under a condition in which the direction indicator 1 is pivoted from a position, allowing the indicator to be housed within the cauling 2, to a position allowing the indicator to be moved out to the outermost spot from the cauling 2. This causes a direction, in which the direction indicator 1 is opened, to coincide with a direction in which a running wind W is exerted, and enables the direction indicator 1 to be rapidly and easily emerged from the cauling 2 through utilization of the running wind W to perform accurate indication of a direction.

Detailed Description of the Invention (Industrial Field of Application) The present invention provides a method for storing a direction indicator of a motorcycle in an outer panel member such as a cowling when not in use, and removing it from the outer panel member when indicating direction. This relates to a retractable direction indicator that can be removed for improved visibility.

(Prior art) In recent years, motorcycles with cowlings have come on the market, but for design reasons, the front direction indicators are buried in the light side of the cowling, and the front direction indicators are buried in the rear end of the rear seat cover. There is one with a rear direction indicator buried in the part.

Such a cowling-embedded direction indicator has good visibility from the side, but visibility of direction indicators from the front and rear deteriorates. In order to improve this poor visibility, it is conceivable to move the direction indicator out of the cowling when giving direction indication 8.

For example, when driving at 200 km/h, the portion that contributes to air resistance is approximately 5 kg, which is approximately 5% of the overall resistance value of the vehicle body. For this reason, aerodynamic force must be taken into account when moving the turn signal in and out of the cowling, but the time to put out the turn signal is before the direction has changed compared to the time to put it in, so the vehicle speed is faster and the aerodynamic force is stronger. There is a problem in that the load applied to the turn signal drive device increases because of the

The present invention is intended to solve the above-mentioned problems, and provides a retractable turn signal in which aerodynamic force acts in the direction in which the turn signal is ejected when the turn signal is moved out of the cowling. be.

(Means for Solving the Problems) In configuring a retractable direction indicator, the present invention provides for a direction indicator from a position in the front-rear direction from a retracted position to a protruding position on the surface of the direction indicator that comes out from an outer plate member such as a cowling. The direction indicator rotation axis is placed at the rear.

(Function) With the above configuration, when the direction indicator is rotated around the direction indicator rotation axis and taken out from the outer panel member such as the cowling, the direction indicator display surface that comes out from the cowling side Since the direction indicator rotation axis is located at the rear of the vehicle, the aerodynamic force that hits the area away from the surface of the outer panel member acts in the direction of moving the direction indicator out of the outer panel member, causing the direction indicator rotation axis to move away from the outer panel member. In addition to the rotational force of the drive device that rotates the turn signal around the cowling, the turn signal can be taken out from the cowling more easily and quickly.

As shown in FIG. 1, FIG. 3, and FIG. The relationship between the display surface 4 of the front direction indicator l and the rotation axis 5 is always the same as that of the rotation axis 5.
Rotate further rearward than the position in the longitudinal direction when the front direction indicator l is rotated from the position where it is stored in the cowling 2 to the position where it is furthest out of the cowling 2 so that it is located at the rear. The moving axis 5 is arranged. A drive device (not shown) is disposed inside the front direction indicator l, and can be operated remotely by operating a switch (not shown) provided at the driver's operating position.

As shown in FIG. 2, FIG. 3, and FIG. Formed and arranged so that it is flush with the outer surface of 7,
The relationship between the display surface 9 of the rear direction indicator 6 and the rotation axis lO is as follows:
In the longitudinal direction, the rear direction indicator 6 is rotated from the position where it is stored in the rear seat cover 7 to the position where it is fully out of the duster seat cover 7 so that the rotation axis lO is always located at the rear. The rotation shaft 10 is arranged further rearward than the position.

With this configuration, when indicating a direction while driving, when the driver operates a switch to indicate the direction, the drive device is activated, and the front and rear direction indicators 1.6 are activated. Rotation axis 5. It rotates around lO and exits to the side of the vehicle body. At this time, the wind W hits the two-way indicator 1.6 from the front, as shown in the sB diagram.

A backward force F is applied to apply a force in the direction O1 that opens the bidirectional indicators 1 and 6 by a component force F sin θ in a direction perpendicular to the straight line toward the rotation axes 5 and 10.

Therefore, the opening speed of the bidirectional indicators 1 and 6 becomes faster, and the driving force of the driving device can be reduced.

On the other hand, if the display surface of the turn signal is placed behind the rotation axis and the opening direction 02 of the turn signal is opposite to the wind direction, the backward force F will be The driving force of the drive device is suppressed by the force perpendicular to the straight line toward the moving axis, and the direction indicator will not open unless the driving force is increased accordingly. Also, if the driving force is the same, the speed at which the direction indicator opens will be slower.

As explained above, in the unimplemented example, the bidirectional indicator 1.6
Since the opening direction and the direction in which the aerodynamic force acts are the same, the opening speed of both the bidirectional indicators 1 and 6 becomes faster, and the power of the drive device can be saved. By opening the bidirectional indicator 1.6 quickly, the flashing signal of the indicator can be issued quickly.

(Effects of the Invention) As described below, the present invention arranges the position of the display surface of the direction indicator and the rotation axis so that the direction of rotation of the direction indicator is the same as the direction of action of the aerodynamic force. By always positioning the rotation axis behind the display surface of the turn signal, the aerodynamic force during driving is effectively used to make it easier and faster to display the turn signal than the outer panel. You will be able to get it out faster.
