Abstract

PURPOSE:To heat-treat simultaneously belt-like materials of different kinds or thicknesses by conveying plural belt-like materials in a furnace in such a way that the planes thereof face each other at a prescribed spacing, i.e., the conveying speed of each belt-like material is made variable. CONSTITUTION:Copper alloy strips W1, W2 which are belt-like materials are continuously annealed in a continuous heat treating furnace by the flollowing method: The strips W1, W2 delivered from uncoilers 16A, 16B are held to face each other at a prescribed space and are charged in this state through charging ports 12A, 12B into a furnace 1 kept a prescribed temp. The strips W1, W2 heated in forming a catenary in the furnace 1 are discharged through discharging ports 13A, 13B and are passed through a cooler 1a and a dryer 1b until the strips are coiled with recoilers 17A, 17B. The residence time of the materials W1, W2 in the furnace are adjusted by setting the conveying speeds of the materials W1, W2 respectively at prescribed values in the case of annealing continuously the materials W1, W2 of different kinds, thicknesses, widths, etc.

However, in this method, since the appropriate conveyance length of each strip-like material is the same, heat treatment of the material for material I/QJ is possible; Jf: is not suitable for heat treatment of band-shaped tooth materials, and has the disadvantage that the width 'fJj becomes large and a large installation space is required.

The present invention was made to eliminate the above-mentioned drawbacks, and by conveying the strip-shaped materials in the furnace so that their planes face each other at a predetermined interval of 11j1, in other words, the conveyance and burial of each strip-shaped material is made flexible. Therefore, it is an object of the present invention to provide a continuous heat treatment method for strip-shaped materials and a continuous heat treatment furnace thereof, which can heat-treat not only the same material but also strip-shaped materials of different types or thicknesses at the same time.

In addition, in the embodiment described in mI, the present invention was applied to a horizontal catenary-type furnace, but it may be a roller hearth-type furnace or a vertical furnace, and the means for conveying the grown and strip-like material is also limited to the glue coiler and uncoiler of the embodiment. It is not something that can be done.

As is clear from the above description, according to the present invention, since a plurality of strips of material are transported through the furnace so that their flat surfaces face each other at a predetermined interval, a conventional furnace may be used. Therefore, the installation of the heat treatment furnace is the same as before;
#G costs are also lower than conventional ones. Moreover, since the strip materials are conveyed by separate conveyance means, by controlling the conveyance speed, it is possible to heat-treat strip materials of different types or plate thicknesses at the same time.
