Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate printing and the correction of an erroneous print, by applying hot-melt ink and hot-melt correction ink alternately in each one-line print length on one long ribbon-shaped body. CONSTITUTION:A long ribbon-shaped body 3 wound round a pair of spools 1 and 2 is provided, and hot-melt ink 4 and hot-melt correction ink 5 are applied thereon alternately in each length of eighty characters equivalent to one-line print. One-line printing is performed, and a carrier 15 is returned to the left end of a platen 20. When there is any error in printing, the carrier 15 is moved to the place of an erroneous print. On the other hand, the ribbon-shaped body 3 is wound up from the right-side spool 2 to the left-side spool 1 so that a part of the hot-melt correction ink 5 is drawn out in front of the platen 20. The hot- melt correction ink 5 has a color matched with the color of paper 21, and the part thereof is superposed on the falsely-printed character, so that the ink 5 is transferred onto the character to coat it up. Then, a part of the hot-melt ink 4 is drawn out again and corrective printing is thereby performed. In this way, an erroneous print can be corrected each time it occurs.
