Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase strength and rigidity of a recessed portion of an instrument panel body and improve accuracy of mount position, by providing a reinforcing member having a shape corresponding to an inner surface of the recessed portion, and mounting the reinforcing member with use of grips having shock absorbing members. CONSTITUTION:In the case that a bucket-like glove box 4 is openably mounted to a recessed portion 5 of an instrument panel body 3 integrally formed of a synthetic resin material, a reinforcing member 20 having a shape substantially corresponding to that of the recessed portion 5 is formed by a front surface portion 21, upper surface portion 22 and both side surface portions 23, and it is fixed to the recessed portion 5 by screws. Both the side surface portions 23 of the reinforcing member 20 are formed with elongated holes 25 at positions corresponding to stopper opening 8 formed through both side surface portions 7 of the recessed portion 5, and stopper pins 6 formed on both sides of the glove box 4 are inserted into the elongated holes 25.
