Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable paper sheets to be reliably separated one by one irrespective of its quality and the size, by a method wherein a friction pad for separating the paper sheets is forced into resilient contact with the paper sheet feeding position of a paper sheet feed roller positioned opposite to a hopper for feeding the paper sheets. CONSTITUTION:An automatic paper sheet feeder C is positioned opposite to a platen 12 on the upper surface of a printer D, and a frame 13, having arms 13a respectively attachable to both sides in an axial direction of the platen 12, is provided with two paper sheet feed parts 14 and 15 and paper sheet discharge parts 16 and 17. In which case, the paper sheet feed parts 14 and 15 are formed with hoppers 14a and 15a, respectively, for charging paper sheets 19, a paper sheet feed roller 18 mounted in a position allowing the paper sheet feed parts to make contact with the surface of the paper sheet 19 in their respective front open positions, and a friction pad 24 for separating the paper sheets pressed by the paper sheet feed roller. This constitution, when the first paper sheet 19 is fed out through rotational friction of the paper sheet feed roller 18, enables reliable catch of the second paper sheet through press friction of the friction pad 24 with the paper sheet.

This automatic paper feeder (A), as shown in FIG. It consists of a paper ejection roller (5) and a stacker (6) that receives the ejected paper. Each of the paper feed hoppers (1) and (2) is provided with a paper feed roller (7), and in conjunction with the rotation of the platen (3), one of the paper feed rollers (7) feeds the paper. It can rotate forward in the fi-1 direction in the drawing, which is the paper direction, and the paper ejection roller (5) can similarly rotate in the paper ejection direction.

On the other hand, corner claws (10) are provided at the paper feeding portions of the hoppers (1) and (2) to separate the fed sheets. This paper feed separation system using corner claws (10) is mainly used in conventional printers, and Fig. 2 shows its (M configuration). Normally, these corner claws (10) and (1o) prevent the paper (11) from falling. In this state, the paper feed roller (7)

However, in the case of this corner claw method, paper (11
)'s reliability varies significantly depending on the paper (thickness of paper, surface condition of paper (1), etc.), and generally the applicable range of paper is very narrow. In this case, the installation position of the corner claw (1o) will be adjusted to match the width of the paper, but in this case, the position of the paper feed roller (7) will also be
There is a problem in that unless it is moved to a position where a suitable relationship with the corner pawl (1o) can be maintained, the reliability before the paper cannot be ensured. For this reason, in the corner claw method mentioned above,
This was extremely inconvenient because the size and quality of paper used in the printer were restricted.

For example, as shown in FIG. 5, the friction pad (24) is connected to the paper feed roller (
18), and is pressed into contact with the paper feed roller (18) surface by a pressure spring (26) or the like. This friction pad (24) has appropriate elasticity, and as shown in FIG. Even if the two-sheet paper (19a) is about to be sent out with this paper feeding, the two-sheet paper (19a) can be accurately received by the suppressing friction of the friction pad (24).

Effects As mentioned above, the paper feed section mechanism of the printer according to the present invention has a friction pad that presses and presses the paper feed roller into contact with the paper feed roller. The paper feed portion can be separated only by compression, and compared to the conventional corner claw type, the feed paper can be separated accurately one sheet at a time without being affected by the paper width.

Therefore, according to the present invention, in automatic paper feeding into a printer, the paper separation performance can be greatly improved, and its reliability can be significantly improved. Additionally, compared to the conventional separation method using the corner claw method, the paper feed separation mechanism is simplified by eliminating the hassle of replacing the corner claws when changing the paper size and adjusting the movement of the claw positions. Not only that, but it also greatly reduces the amount of time required to use a printer.
