Moreover, there is a problem in that it is larger, and the center of gravity is also lowered accordingly, requiring a large force when tilting up.

It is difficult to find a space suitable for installing an oil tank, and a special space is required to install such an oil tank, so a cowling is necessary to ensure a sufficient amount of lubricating oil. It is necessary to increase the size to provide a space for installing the tank, and there is a problem that, for example, the cowling width increases and interferes with parts on the hull side, causing restrictions on the tilt amplifier.

。Effects The present invention has the above configuration, and is characterized in that the cowling that covers the engine has a double wall structure, and the hollow portion formed by the double wall is used as the oil reservoir of the engine. By forming the oil reservoir in the cowling, which does not require relatively strength, the entire outboard motor body can be made lighter and smaller. In other words, forming the cowling into a double wall increases the weight of the cowling, but since this type of cowling can be made from thin, lightweight material, the weight increase is far greater than when the drive case weight increases. It's small. Moreover, since the oil reservoir is installed in the cowling above the drive unit, the center of gravity moves higher than if an oil pan is installed in the drive unit, and the weight of the drive unit is also reduced, which has the advantage of reducing tilting force when tilting up. There is. At that time, the oil in the cowling moves forward as it is tilted and amplified.
When raised to a certain level, the force required for the tilt amplifier is rapidly reduced, making operation easier. In this case, in the present invention, the hollow part can be provided by using the extra space in the side wall of the cowling, so the cowling itself does not need to be made so large as compared to the case where a special oil tank is installed, making it more compact. , there is no inconvenience such as being limited by the tilt amplifier as in the conventional case. Furthermore, since the cowling faces the outside air, there is no need for a special cooling mechanism to cool the oil, which not only helps reduce costs, but also allows the engine to be cooled by the double-walled portion of the cowling and the oil. This has the advantage of reducing noise.
