PRIOR ART Seats used in passenger cars, light trucks, and other vehicles primarily have a seat system that prevents the occupant's head (hereinafter referred to as a vehicle occupant) from tilting back to prevent neck damage in the event of a rear-end collision. A ``pillow'' is attached to the top of the seat backrest in order to provide a rest for the vehicle occupant's head while the vehicle is in operation. Regarding this “pillow”,
In the automobile terminology defined in the Japanese Industrial Standards, it is written as "Head Retraints" J, and it is generally called "Head Retraints" in the field, so this specification also uses this "Head Retraints". In principle, the terminology shall be followed as ``head restraint,'' and to avoid redundancy, it may also be simply referred to as ``pillow.''

However, in response to the demands of users as a result of the recent individualization and fashionization of various specifications, the approximately central part that contacts the back of the passenger's head is opened, and this opening is equipped with a breathable member such as a net-like body. A head restraint with a unique design was proposed. However, as shown in FIG. 5, the skin material used for the Herad restraint has a structure in which an opening 10 is transparently provided in the center and a breathable member 12 is exposed through the opening. Therefore, it is not easy to manufacture this skin material, and a rational manufacturing method has been sought.

(1) The step of locking the breathable member (especially in FIGS. 1 and 2) The seat mounting stay 20 inserted into the head restraint 14 is finally hollowed out as shown in FIG. The cushion material 1゛8 is inserted into the skin material 16.
It is embedded in the pillow body and is attached to the top of the seat backrest to support it. This stay 20 is made of a metal hollow tube or a solid rod-shaped body, and is known in itself, but in this case, an opening 10 is transparently provided at approximately the center of the head restraint body. Therefore, the stay is arranged at a position that avoids the opening 10. For example, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 6, the stay 20 includes a lip-shaped portion 20a that is inserted into the head restraint 14 and functions to support and reinforce the pillow body, and A pair of attachments that are an extension of the portion 20a and are inserted into the top of the seat backrest are the pillar portions 20.

The installation shown in FIG. 2 involves wrapping the air-permeable member 12 made of, for example, a net-like body around a predetermined position of the stay 20, that is, between the mouth-shaped portion 20a and the reinforcing member 20c, and using an appropriate method such as a stipple to cover the overlapping portion. It is locked and fixed by the locking tool 22 of. As shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, the air permeable member 12 is preferably a flat mesh body with a predetermined mesh size, and is made of, for example, polypropylene resin, hard vinyl chloride resin, glass fiber reinforced acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer. The material is general plastic such as composite resin or reinforced plastic, but it may also be made of metal wire (for example, stainless steel wire) that has been subjected to rust prevention treatment and is knitted into a net-like body if necessary. Furthermore, as the breathable member 12, in addition to the above-mentioned net-like body, a so-called punching board in which a large number of holes are formed in a plate-like body, and a lattice-like body consisting of a large number of lattices arranged at predetermined intervals are preferably used. .

Effects of the Invention According to the present invention, an air permeable member is secured to a predetermined portion of a stay, a parison is placed on the stay, and then the parison is sandwiched between a skin material molding mold having an annular cavity formed therein, and air is removed. By blowing, a hollow skin material for a head restraint, which has an opening in the center and has a breathable member interposed in the opening, is manufactured. In other words, the present invention appropriately applies the blow molding method that is often used in the production of hollow plastic bodies to create a head restraint in which an air permeable member such as a mesh is provided in the opening, which was generally difficult to produce in the past. This has made it possible to easily and rationally manufacture the skin material.
