Abstract

PURPOSE:To feed almost all of an offset preventing oil uniformly and to facilitate its exchange by rendering exchangeable the holding frames of a cleaning member and the offset preventing oil feeding member. CONSTITUTION:An oil feeding member 9 is provided with at least one oil oozing layer 9b having oil penetration resistance, i.e., oil penetration pressure drop per unit thickness equal to or higher than a layer 9a, on the outside of the oil impregnated layer 9a made of oil impregnated felt in contact with a roller 2. Said member 9 and a cleaning member 13 are also fixed to a holding frame 10 freely mountable and dismountable on the rails 12 of the frame 11 of a device. Since the member 9 feeds the oil to the surface of a fixing roll cleaned with the member 13, the member 9 is not impaired in oil feed function by staining, and the oil can be uniformly fed until most of the contained oil is used up.

Detailed Description of the Invention [Field of Industrial Application] The present invention relates to an improvement of a roller fixing device used for fixing a toner image to a recording sheet in a recording device such as an electrophotographic copying machine. The toner image is supported by passing the support such as recording paper attached to the surface between a pair of pressure rollers to which an anti-offset liquid is applied to the roller on the side to which the toner image is attached, and applying pressure and/or heat. The present invention relates to an improvement of a roller fixing device for fixing to a body.

In general, in the roller fixing device described above, at least one of the pair of pressure rollers, in most cases, has a toner image attached to it, in order to make the device lightweight and compact, and to stabilize and speed up fixing. The side rollers are heated by a heat source provided inside or outside the rollers. That is, the most popular type is one in which the toner image is fixed by heating and pressure. In addition, toner tends to be easily offset from the support, especially on the side of the roller where the toner image is attached.
In addition, since the offset toner makes it easier to apply the support force S, offset prevention liquid such as silicone oil (hereinafter referred to as
(referred to as oil) is applied to the surface. However, if too much oil is applied, the support may become contaminated with oil, it becomes difficult to write on the support later with pencil or ink, and the amount of oil consumed increases. It may be uneconomical. Therefore, many means have been employed in the past to uniformly and thinly apply oil to the surface of the roller. As such oil applying means, those shown in FIGS. 1 to 4 are known.

In FIGS. 1 to 4, reference numerals 1 and 2 are a pair of fixing rollers rotating in the direction of the arrow and in pressure contact with each other, of which roller 2
is a roller that is provided with a heat source 3 such as a halogen tube heater or a resistance heating element inside, and that presses the toner image-attached side of the support. 4 is an oil tank, 5 is an oil transfer section, 6 is an oil application section that applies oil to the surface of the roller 22, and 7 and 8 are scraping blades for removing excess oil and dirt adhering to the roller 2. and a wiping member, and 9 is an oil applying member such as felt or sponge impregnated with oil.

Compared to the oil applying means shown in FIG. 4, the oil applying means shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 has the advantage that oil can be applied to the row 22 indefinitely as long as the oil tank 1 is replenished with oil. However, this has the problem of making the device complicated and large, and in practice, dirt such as toner and paper powder adheres to the oil application section 6, causing clogging. Since the oil is not uniformly distributed in a relatively short period of time, the above advantages are hardly utilized. In this respect, the oil applying means shown in FIG. 4 is designed so that the oil applying member 9 can be fixed to the holding frame 10 by rollers so that it can be easily replaced on the premise that the oil applying member 9 runs out of oil and becomes dirty. Equipment frame top cover 1
Since the mounting provided in 1 is configured to be inserted into the rail 12 from the side, the device is simple and compact, and the oil applying member 9 can be replaced together with the holding frame 10 as necessary. It has the advantage that oil can always be uniformly applied. However, even in the oil applying means shown in FIG. 4, there is an uneconomical situation in that the oil applying member 9 is still sufficiently impregnated with oil but must be replaced due to dirt, and the oil applying member 9 must be replaced due to dirt. Recycling and reusing the component 9 is relatively cumbersome.

In the present invention, a support with a toner image attached to the surface is passed between a pair of pressure rollers to which an anti-offset liquid is applied to the roller on the side to which the toner image is attached, and the toner image is applied to the support by pressing and/or heating the support. In a device for fixing an image to a support, a holding frame holding a cleaning member and an anti-offset liquid applying member impregnated with an anti-offset liquid is replaceably attached to the six frames of the fixing device, and is attached to the side on which the toner image is attached. The anti-offset liquid is applied to the roller after the roller is cleaned by the cleaning member, and the anti-offset liquid passes through a surface layer of the anti-offset liquid application member that is in contact with the roller and has a resistance greater than that of an internal impregnated layer. A roller fixing device characterized in that it is provided with a diagnostic layer, with this configuration the above-mentioned object is achieved.

9'b, 9''b are internal impregnated layers 9a, '9'
a, It is made of the same material as 9I/a, and the oil passage resistance may be slightly higher due to a denser structure, but the contact angle of oil is larger than that of the material of impregnated layers 9a, 9'a, 9'a. It is more preferable to use materials. For example, the inner impregnated layers 9a, 9'a, 9'a are made of natural fibers such as cotton or wool, or polyester, polyimide,
When applying silicone oil using felt made of synthetic fibers such as polyamide-imide, polyamide, polyacrylate, etc., use felt made of fibers of tetrafluoride resin or tetrafluoride resin to exude N9b, 9'b, and 9"b. It is preferable to use a sponge or the like having continuous holes in order to apply oil thinly and uniformly.Especially in a heat roller fixing device,
It is desirable to use felt made of heat-resistant fibers such as polyimide, polyimide amide, polyamide, polyacrylate, etc. for the impregnated layers 9a, 9'a, 9''a.However, the present invention is of course not limited thereto.

As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible to apply oil thinly and uniformly to the fixing roller until the oil in the oil applying member is almost exhausted, and the oil applying member can be easily replaced together with the cleaning member. It is easy to maintain uniform oil application, the entire sheet roller fixing device can be made compact, and the cleaning member is relatively easy to recycle, so it is possible to reuse the replaced cleaning member and oil application member. Many excellent effects can be obtained, such as ease of use.
