Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable safe driving without any adverse effect on the steering stability by issuing the same signals from the ground clearance sensors of two wheels disposed in diagonally positions and detecting the presence or the absence of different signals of the ground clearance sensors of the other wheels. CONSTITUTION:According to the signals of ground clearance sensors A, B, C and D mounted on front, rear, right and left air suspensions FL, FR, RL and RR, air is supplied to increase ground clearance. By opening an exhaust valve L2, air is discharged outside to reduce the ground clearance. If the ground clearance sensors of two wheels having the diagonal relation with each other produce the same signals and the sensors of the other wheels produce different signals or no signal, any trouble state where a single wheel may fall into a side channel or so, or ride on corner stones is discriminated. And a logic circuit 51 which interrupts the air feeding and discharging operation with respect to each of the air suspensions is incorporated into a controller 5.

An air suspension that utilizes the bulk elasticity of air is used as a wheel suspension system for automobiles, and vehicle height sensors are installed in each of the front, left, and right air suspension sections, and air supply to each air suspension is controlled based on the signals from each vehicle height sensor. A vehicle height adjustment device that is equipped with a control device that controls exhaust gas independently and automatically normalizes the vehicle posture is already known (see, for example, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 58-112817).

As mentioned above, if any of the four wheel suspensions on the front, rear, left, and right wheels becomes lower or higher than the normal height (or set height) for some reason, an up signal or down signal from the vehicle height sensor of that suspension will be sent. In a vehicle height adjustment device that supplies air to the air-filled part of the suspension and discharges the air in the air-filled part to the outside to bring the vehicle height to the normal height, for example, only one wheel is placed in a side ditch, etc. The vehicle height adjustment device also operates if only one wheel runs onto a curb, etc., but in such cases, no matter how many times you try to adjust the air suspension, the vehicle It is impossible to balance the vehicle's posture, and the vehicle remains in an unstable posture. Therefore, the vehicle must continue to drive toward the vehicle height up signal or vehicle height down signal. When you return to the normal position and start running, it takes a certain amount of time (
Depending on the device, the time ranges from a few seconds to 2.6 minutes) 7
5) Because of the force, there is a large difference in height between the left and right sides, and the steering stability is extremely poor, making IF always dangerous from a safety perspective.

Reference numeral 5 denotes a control device, and the control device 5 controls the respective solenoid valves L1 to L6 adapted to the signals based on the input of each signal (down signal or up signal) from the vehicle height sensors A, B, C, and D. Air suspension solenoid pulp and exhaust pulp Lt' equipped with a vehicle height sensor that controls energization and issues a down signal, for example.

Furthermore, the control device 5 is configured to receive a signal from a changeover switch 6 for changing the vehicle height from a normal vehicle height to a high vehicle height, and also to receive a vehicle speed signal from a vehicle speed sensor γ. For example, when driving on a rough road, by switching the changeover switch 6 from normal to no h, the control device 5 is activated by the signal.
The system emits air supply to each air suspension to raise the vehicle height, preventing accidents such as the vehicle body touching the ground when driving on rough roads, and also lowering the vehicle speed when driving at high speeds. Based on the signal from the sensor 7, the control device 5 issues a signal to discharge the air in the air-sealed portion of the valley air suspension to the outside, thereby lowering the height of the vehicle and improving stability at high speed.

As a result of various experiments conducted by Fukuban et al. on a vehicle equipped with the vehicle height adjustment device as described above, we found that when only one of the four wheels on the front, rear, left, and right sides falls into a gutter, etc., or when only one wheel falls onto a curb. If you run over a vehicle, the vehicle height sensors of the two diagonally positioned suspensions of the four wheels, that is, A and D, or B and C, are the same type of signal (i.e., down signal or up signal). It was found that the vehicle height sensors of the other two wheels' suspensions either emitted signals of a different type from those described above or did not emit any signals at all. Then, as mentioned above, the vehicle height sensors of two wheels diagonally located emit the same type of signal, and the vehicle height sensors of the other two wheels emit a different type of signal, or they do not emit any signal at all. It was also discovered that the combination of signals from the vehicle height sensor is almost impossible under normal driving conditions, except when only one wheel falls into a ditch or runs onto a curb.

そこで本発明では、車高センサA、B、C。Therefore, in the present invention, vehicle height sensors A, B, and C are used.

Among D, if A and D both emit an up signal and B and C do not emit an up signal, if A and D both emit a down signal and B and C do not emit a down signal, then B and C If A and D both emit an up signal and A and D do not emit an up signal, and if B and C both emit a down signal and A and D do not emit an up signal, that is, they are in diagonal positions among the four wheels. If the vehicle height sensor of two wheels emits the same type of signal, and the vehicle height sensor of the other two wheels emits a different type of signal, or does not emit any signal, the vehicle height sensor of the other two wheels may have fallen into a ditch, etc., or a curb, etc. A logic circuit 51 is added to the control device 5, which determines that the air suspension is in an abnormal state and stops the air supply and exhaust operations to each air suspension.

According to the present invention configured as described above, only one wheel falls into a gutter or rides on a curb, etc., and the vehicle height sensors of the two diagonally positioned wheels both emit the same type of signal, and the other two wheels If the vehicle height sensor emits a signal different from the above or does not emit a signal, these signals are transmitted to the control device 5.
When this is input, the logic circuit 51 issues a signal to the control device 5 to stop the air supply/exhaust operation to each air suspension, and no vehicle height adjustment is performed at all. Therefore, when the vehicle is returned to a flat road after that, the vehicle attitude will be maintained at the normal attitude 11 before falling into a ditch or riding on a curb, etc., without affecting the steering stability during subsequent driving. This allows you to start driving safely.

As described above, according to the present invention, by extremely simple bundling, unnecessary operation of the vehicle height adjustment device is stopped when only one wheel falls into a gutter or rides on a curb, and then returns to a flat road. It can prevent the vehicle from becoming unbalanced when it starts running, and it is extremely effective in contributing to improving running stability.
