Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress oscillation of a separating member and prevent wear of a photosensitive body to carry a toner or the like efficiently by distributing pores having 200-500mum diameter in a sponge layer on the surface of a guide roll and rotating the roll while bringing it into contact with the surface of the photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:Many pores 7b which the toner or the like can penetrate are opened in a sponge elastic layer 7a of a guide roll 7 which removed a developer from a photosensitive body 1. If the diameter of these pores 7b is made larger than 200mum and smaller than 500mum, the toner or the like remains stably in pores 7b, and therefore, the toner or the like is not blown out from the gap between a device frame 2 and the photosensitive body 1, and oscillation of a separating member 8 is not increased. Consequently, wear of the photosensitive body 1 and the separating member 8 is prevented to carry efficiently the toner or the like to a toner stagnating part.

As mentioned above, the outer cleaning device generally has a structure as shown in FIG. In Figure 1, 1
2 is an image forming drum that has an image forming layer made of an electrophotographic photoreceptor or a dielectric material on its surface and rotates in the direction of the arrow; 2 is a cleaning device frame that can be rotated counterclockwise around a support shaft 3; , 4 are held by a holding frame 6 rotatably attached to the cleaning device frame 2 around a shaft 5,
A scraping member 7 is made of a rubber plate or a resin plate, the tip of which is pressed against the surface of the image forming drum 1, and a scraping member 4 scrapes off developer such as residual toner from the surface of the image forming drum 1. A guide roller 8 rotating in the direction of the arrow receives the surface of the image forming body drum 1 and conveys it away from the surface of the image forming body drum 1. A guide roller 8 contacts the surface of the guide roller 7 to separate and drop toner, etc. from the guide roller 7. This is a separation member made of a resin plate such as polyester.

This is done by moving the guide roller 7 close to the surface of the image forming drum 1 to prevent toner from spilling out from the gap between the guide roller 7 and the image forming drum 10, and to prevent foreign matter such as dust and paper powder from falling between the guide roller 7 and the image forming drum 10. This is because the surface of the image forming member drum 1 will not be damaged even if the image forming member drum 1 is sandwiched, and the conveyance of toner, etc. on the surface of the guide roller 70 will be improved.

However, even with the elastic surface layer 7a, there is a problem in that the surface is smooth, so that toner etc. easily slip and accumulate particularly in the area where the guide roller 7 and the surface of the photoreceptor drum 10 are close to each other. When toner etc. accumulates in this way, it may have a negative effect on the performance of the image forming body.
In addition, when maintenance is performed by rotating the cleaning device frame 2 counterclockwise, in order to prevent toner from falling and contaminating the inside of the recording device and accumulating.
It is easily possible to improve the conveying performance of the guide roller 7 by adding unevenness or grooves to the surface of the elastic surface layer 7a. However, this may result in the separating member 8 not being able to sufficiently separate the toner etc. from the surface of the guide roller 7, or the separating member 8 vibrating and scattering the toner etc., causing the cleaning device frame 2 and the image Problems arise in that toner is blown out from the gap between the forming drums 10 and the separating member 8 is considerably worn out.

In order to solve such problems with conventional cleaning devices, the present inventors first fabricated a sponge on the surface of the elastic surface layer 7a of the guide roller 7, which has pores with a diameter equal to or larger than the particle size of the developer and equal to or smaller than 200 μm. A cleaning device was invented in which the guide roller 7 was configured to be rotated as a result of contact with the surface of the image forming body. According to this cleaning device, the guide roller 7 rotates smoothly due to the friction of the sponge layer with the image forming body, efficiently conveys toner etc. without slipping through the holes on the surface,

The advantage is that toner etc. will not spill from between the f frame 2 and the image forming body drum 1, the separation part paulownia 8 will not be vibrated, and the image forming body and separation part (A8) will not be worn out. This invention is patented in 1973.

The present invention has been made as a result of further study on the outer edge of the invention of the above-mentioned Japanese Patent Application No. 141949/1982, and the pores of the sponge layer of the guide roller rough are enlarged to a range of 500 μm or less in total diameter. Even if toner, etc. remains in the hole without being separated, it becomes stable as if it had become part of the guide roller rough at a relatively early stage, reducing the conveyance of toner, etc., and causing spillage. This was made based on the discovery that the separation member 8 does not suffer from increased vibration and wear and tear on the image forming body and the separation member 8 does not increase as a result of the separation member 8 being stabilized in the hole. It is.

That is, the present invention includes a scraping member that scrapes off residual developer from the surface of a moving image forming body, and a guide roller that receives the scraped developer on its surface and conveys it away from the surface of the image forming body. , a cleaning device equipped with a separating section system that comes into contact with the guide roller and separates the developer from the guide roller, wherein the guide roller is spread over the surface of the sponge layer in which pores having a diameter larger than 200 μm and 500 μm or less are distributed. The cleaning device is characterized in that the cleaning device has a roller that contacts the surface of the image forming body and rotates as a result of the rotation.

The present invention provides a cleaning device as shown in FIG. 1 using a sponge, such as a chloroform sponge, which has holes 7b of a suitable size on the surface of the elastic surface layer 7a of the guide roller 7 through which toner or the like can enter. By using a sponge made of Blend rubber and by making the guide roller 7 rotate in contact with the surface of the image forming body, the above-mentioned problems in the conventional cleaning device can be solved. The appropriately sized holes 7b opened in the surface of the sponge of the elastic surface layer 7a are holes with a diameter greater than 200 μm and less than 500 μm. This is because a range in which the diameter is greater than or equal to the particle size of the developer and less than 200 μm has already been filed in Japanese Patent Application No. 141949/1989, and a range outside of that range in which the diameter is greater than 200 μm and less than 500 μm has also been filed. This is because the same effect as the invention of No. 58-141949 can be obtained. And holes 7 distributed on the surface
If the total diameter of b is larger than 500 μm, the toner etc. remaining in the holes will not be stable, increase or decrease, and may spill out from the gap between the cleaning device frame 2 and the image forming body drum 1, or the separation member Without reducing the vibration of the separation member 8, toner starts to blow out from the gap between the cleaning device frame 2 and the image forming member drum 10, and the separation member 8 becomes severely worn.

In the present invention, the diameter across the surface of the guide roller that is driven to rotate in contact with the image forming body is larger than 200 μm and is 500 μm.
Since the sponge layer is made of a sponge layer in which pores of m or less in size are distributed, toner, etc. does not fall out from between the guide roller and the surface of the image forming body, and toner, etc. does not accumulate there. The guide roller has an excellent effect of efficiently conveying toner and the like to the toner reservoir in the cleaning device frame with less wear and tear.
