The cleaning device as described above generally has a structure as shown in FIG. In FIG. 1,
Reference numeral 1 denotes an image forming drum having an image forming layer made of an electrophotographic photosensitive member or a dielectric on the surface thereof, and rotating in the direction of the arrow.
The cleaning device frame 4, which can be rotated counterclockwise around the center, is held by a holding frame 6 rotatably attached to the cleaning device frame 2 about a shaft 5, and the front end is image-formed. A scraping member made of a rubber plate, a resin plate, or the like, which is pressed against the surface of the body drum 1, a scraping member 4 receives on the surface a developer such as residual toner scraped from the surface of the image forming body drum 1. , A guide roller that rotates away from the surface of the image forming drum 1 and that rotates in the direction of the arrow, 8 is a resin such as polyester that contacts the surface of the guide roller 7 and separates toner and the like from the guide roller 7 to drop it It is a separating member made of a plate.

That is, the guide roller 7 is brought close to the surface of the image forming body drum 1 so that toner or the like does not spill out from the gap between the guide roller 7 and the image forming body drum 1, and foreign matter such as dust or paper dust is provided between them. This is because the surface of the image forming drum 1 is not damaged even when the toner is caught, and the transportability of toner and the like on the surface of the guide roller 7 is improved.
However, even if the elastic surface layer 7a is provided, there is a problem that the surface of the guide roller 7 and the photosensitive drum 1 tend to be accumulated on the surface of the photosensitive drum 1 due to slipping of the toner because the surface is smooth. And, if the toner or the like accumulates, it may adversely affect the performance of the image forming body.
Further, when the cleaning device frame 2 is rotated counterclockwise for maintenance, toner or the like may be spilled and stain the inside of the recording device.

In order to prevent the accumulation of toner etc., the elastic surface layer 7
It is easily conceivable to improve the transportability of the guide roller 7 by providing irregularities or grooves on the surface of a. However, the separation member 8 may not sufficiently separate the toner or the like from the surface of the guide roller 7, or the separation member 8 may vibrate to scatter the toner or the like, and the cleaning device frame may be removed. Toner is blown out from the gap between the image forming body drum 1 and the image forming body drum 1, and the separation member 8 is worn out significantly.

The present invention relates to a cleaning device as shown in FIG. 1, in which a sponge having holes of an appropriate size for allowing toner and the like to enter the elastic surface layer 7a of the guide roller 7 is formed on the surface,
For example, a sponge made of chloroprene rubber is used, and the guide roller 7 is driven to rotate in contact with the surface of the image forming body, thereby achieving the above object.

In the present invention, if all the holes distributed on the surface of the elastic surface layer 7a made of sponge of the guide roller 7 are so small that the toner and the like cannot enter, the transportability of the toner and the like is the conventional rubber-coated guide roller. With almost no change,
Toner and the like are likely to accumulate between the surface of the image forming body, the friction coefficient with the surface of the image forming body is reduced, and the fact that the surface pores are small means that the internal pores are also small. As a result, the compressibility of the elastic surface layer 7a is also reduced, so that the driven roller of the guide roller 7 easily slips, and the surface of the image forming body is easily worn. Therefore, it is necessary that the elastic surface layer 7a of the sponge has pores of a size that allows the entry of toner and the like to be distributed on the surface. However, if all the holes are larger than 200 μm in diameter,
This time, the same problem as in the case where the surface of the conventional rubber-coated guide roller is provided with irregularities or grooves occurs. Therefore, the elastic surface layer 7a of the guide roller 7 needs to be made of the sponge as described above in which a large number of holes having a diameter not less than 200 μm and not less than the particle size of the developer are distributed on the surface. Is preferably in this range, but it may be one containing a small hole or a large hole. By using such an elastic surface layer 7a, even if the guide roller 7 is rotated by being brought into contact with the surface of the image forming body, the elastic surface layer 7a has excellent compressibility and friction coefficient. Is rotated at the same speed as the surface of the image forming body without slipping, so that the surface of the image forming body is not worn out, and the holes on the surface of the elastic surface layer 7a are scraped off.
Since the toner and the like scraped off by the carrier are conveyed by being hooked, the transportability is improved, the toner and the like are not accumulated, and the separating member 8 vibrates and the separating member 8 moves the guide roller 7 from the guide roller 7. It is possible to obtain the excellent result that the separation of the toner and the like does not become insufficient.

FIG. 2 shows a state in which the surface of the elastic surface layer 7a of the guide roller 7 conveys toner and the like and is separated by the separating member 8. The surface of the elastic surface layer 7a includes the inside of the holes. Due to the intermolecular force, the toner particles are thinly and relatively firmly attached, but the toner and the like on the toner particles are in a state of being lightly loaded due to the electrostatic repulsive force of the toners working together. The holes in the elastic surface layer 7a do not become uniformly filled with toner or the like inside, but serve to catch and convey the toner or the like leaving a considerable space. When the hole for transporting the toner or the like reaches the position where the separation member 8 is lightly pressed, the edge of the hole is pushed by the separation member 8 and the shape of the hole is deformed. The toner or the like that has entered the hole is ejected as shown in the figure, and the toner or the like separates from the elastic surface layer 7a and falls to the bottom of the cleaning device frame 2. As a result, most of the toner conveyed by the guide roller 7 is separated from the guide roller 7 except for the toner that thinly adheres to the surface of the elastic surface layer 7a and provides the remaining surface protection effect. The roller 7 can continue efficient transportation.

According to the present invention, the toner or the like does not spill out from between the guide roller and the surface of the image forming body, the toner or the like does not accumulate there, and the image forming body and the separating member are less likely to wear, and the guide roller is The excellent effect of efficiently transporting the toner and the like to the toner reservoir of the cleaning device frame can be obtained.
