A thermoplastic synthetic resin sheet that is divided into two or more colors (hereinafter referred to as r-colored sheet 1-J) is suitable for use, for example, as a pad skin for an automobile's dash board or driver's seat instrument panel. It is used. For example, as shown in Figure 1, on the driver's seat instrument panel, the approximately horizontal part of the upper part of the pad (A) is painted with a non-dazzling color so as not to obstruct the driver's vision.

A color that harmonizes with the exterior of the automobile is used, and a color that harmonizes with the interior of the driver's cabin is used for the substantially vertical portion of the lower part of the pad (B), and the pad skin, which is divided into two or more colors, is colored in the above-mentioned colors. Separated sheets are used. Methods of coloring pad sheets for instrument panels, etc. into two or more colors include: ■Painting in two colors after forming the pad;■
Various methods have been proposed, such as molding each color side and then fusing each segment to form a single body, but the former method has drawbacks such as restrictions on the paint used and problems with quality stability. However, the latter method has drawbacks such as a large amount of trimming loss and the need for special equipment.

Therefore, a method has become widely adopted in which a sheet is divided into two or more colors in advance, and the sheet is applied to a vacuum mold to form the desired shape. The following problems remain. For example, in a pad 10 such as an instrument panel in which the upper part A and the lower part B are divided into two colors as shown in FIG. Air outlet 1 as shown in Fig. 3
2 is provided to hide the border line. However, when this pad 10 is observed in a plan view, it is curved in a large arc shape as shown in FIG. It is required that there be 3 people within the range of the parting line (Figure 4 (1)), but in reality, as shown in Figure 4 (2) and (3), there are three people at the boundary (
B-B line) deviates from the parting line and is unevenly distributed somewhere,
This often results in defective products that cannot be hidden using air outlets, etc.

The reason for this will be explained in relation to the conventional method of forming color-sorted sheets. In the conventional forming method, sheets are pre-sorted into two colors as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6. Both ends of the sheet 14 are held horizontally by a pair of clamps 16, and after the sheet 14 is heated and softened by a heating device 118, a vacuum forming mold 22 is vertically moved by a fluid pressure cylinder 20 disposed below. It is then lifted up to perform vacuum forming of the softened sheet. However, the heating device 18
The color division boundary (B-B line) of the sheet 14, which is heated and softened and hangs down in an arc shape as shown in FIG. As is clear, it is curved into an arch within the range of χ1-χ, , L-, and it is difficult to straighten the color division boundary part as shown by line A-A. Therefore, after vacuum forming, This results in the occurrence of defective products as described above. Also, depending on the shape of the pad, there may be uneven parts in the vacuum mold 22. Therefore, when the softened sheet 14 is pressed against the vacuum mold 22 and vacuum formed, the color division boundary, which should originally be formed as a straight line, may be formed. The parts may appear in a meandering shape.

In order to achieve this objective, the method of molding a thermoplastic synthetic resin sheet divided into two or more colors according to the present invention is such that a thermoplastic synthetic resin sheet divided into two or more colors is held horizontally by clamps. A support plate that can be moved up and down from a recessed groove formed in a vacuum forming mold that is movably disposed below the sheet is raised to support the color classification boundary of the sheet at the clamping level of the clamp. , a heating means is brought above the sheet to heat and soften the sheet, and after the heating means is removed, a presser plate that is located above the sheet and can be freely raised and lowered is lowered to set the color classification boundary of the sheet. Then, the vacuum forming die is started to rise and the support base is relatively retreated toward the vacuum forming die, and the vacuum forming die is brought into contact with the softened sheet, and the vacuum forming die is brought into contact with the softened sheet. The color division boundary portion of the sheet held between the plate and the support plate is taken into the recessed groove of the vacuum forming mold, and the vacuum forming mold continues to rise, and after passing the clamping level of the clamp, the holding plate is removed. It is characterized in that it is raised and retreated synchronously with the vacuum forming mold, and further, during this period, the vacuum forming mold is vacuum-suctioned to perform vacuum forming of the sheet.

FIG. 7 is a perspective view showing a schematic structure of a color-coded sheet molding apparatus according to the present invention, and reference numeral 24 indicates a thermoplastic synthetic resin sheet that is color-coded into two colors. is held horizontally by a pair of clamps 26, 26 fixed at a predetermined height, with both ends removably clamped. As the material of the sheet 24, thermoplastic synthetic resins such as polyethylene 7-lene, polypropylene, polystyrene, polycarbonate, ABS resin, and nylon are appropriately selected and used depending on the purpose of molding, and plasticizers and fillers are added as necessary. agents, stabilizers, etc. are added. In this embodiment, the sheet 24 is divided into two colors, and this can be done by heating and fusing two sheets colored separately with different pigments, by bonding both sheets with an adhesive, or by bonding them together with an adhesive. It can be obtained by painting the sheets in different colors, but it is preferable to manufacture them by heat-sealing two sheets.

Next, reference numeral 34 designates a vacuum forming mold which is located below the clamping level L of the sheet 24 by the clamps 26 and 26 and is arranged to be able to move up and down vertically beyond this sheet clamping level L. 34 is fixedly supported at the tip of a piston rod 38 of a fluid pressure (particularly hydraulic) cylinder 36 vertically disposed on a fixed surface, and is slowly driven up and down. The external axial shape of the vacuum forming mold 34 is appropriately designed depending on the shape of the object to be molded, but as will be described later, in order to make the color division boundaries of the color-coded sheets 24 inconspicuous in appearance, , it is necessary that a linear recessed groove 4o is provided. An elongated support plate 42 extending over the entire width in the longitudinal direction of the recess groove 4o is housed in the recess groove 4o so as to be able to move in and out. It is fixed to the tips of piston rods 46, 46 of two fluid pressure (particularly hydraulic) cylinders 44, 44 provided, and can be moved up and down freely. The lifting limit of the support plate 42 is set at least above the sheet clamping level, and as will be described later, the support plate 42 stops after rising to the sheet clamping level L and lifts the sheet 24 held horizontally. Functions to support color segment boundaries.

Further, above the sheet clamping level L and directly above the support plate 42, a presser plate 52 is provided which is fixed to a piston rod 50 of a fluid pressure (particularly hydraulic) cylinder 48 and is vertically movable. ing. The lowering limit of the presser plate 52 is set to the sheet clamping level L, and as will be described later, the sheet 24 supported from below by the support plate 42 is pressed and clamped from the upper surface of the sheet at the color division boundary. It functions as it should.

First, the thermoplastic synthetic resin sheet 24, which has been divided into two or more colors and cut into fixed sizes, is clamped and held horizontally by the clamps 26 and 26 (this sets the sheet clamping level L described above). . At this time, the vacuum forming mold 34
The holding plates 52 and 52 are at their lower and upper limit positions, respectively, and the support plate 42 is retracted into the recessed groove 40 of the vacuum mold 34.

Therefore, as shown in FIG. 8, the cylinder 44 is energized to raise the support plate 42 to the sheet clamping level L and stop there, thereby supporting the sheet 24 from below at the color division boundary. Note that the cylinder 44 remains in the pressure-energized state, so the support plate 42 does not naturally descend due to gravity.

In this state, the heating means 28 comes horizontally and is located above the color-sorted sheet 24,
It is heated to soften it (see Figure 9). At this time, the sheet 24 is attached to the support plate 42 at the color division boundary B.
Since the sheet is held at the sheet clamping level L by the clamps 26 and the support plate 42, the intermediate portion of the sheet, which is supported by each clamp 26 and the support plate 42, hangs down in an arc shape as shown in the figure, but the color division boundary portion B is flat. is supported by a support plate 42 in a straight line. The temperature at which the sheet is thermoplasticized by the heating means 28 in this case varies depending on the material of the sheet 24;
Generally, the temperature is about 120 to 200°C.

Once the sheet 24 has been heated in this way to soften it to a degree suitable for thermoplastic molding, the heating means 28 is removed from the sheet heating position. Next, a cylinder 4 disposed above the sheet holding level L and directly above the support plate 42
8 is energized, and the presser plate 52 fixed to the tip of the piston rod 50 descends to the sheet clamping level L, which is the lowering limit, and the color of the sheet is lowered together with the support plate 42 that is in contact with the lower surface of the sheet 24. This means that the section boundary portion B is securely held fixed on the sheet clamping level L.

Next, as shown in FIG. 11, the cylinder 36 is started to be energized to slowly raise the vacuum mold 34, and at the same time as the cylinder 36 is started to be energized, the cylinder 44 connected to the support plate 42 is moved up. When the fluid pressure is released, the piston rod 46 of the support plate 42 retreats relatively to the cylinder 44 as the vacuum mold 34 rises. In this way, the piston rod 46 is relatively retracted by the lifting distance of the vacuum forming mold 34, so the color classification boundary B of the sheet 24 is
The sheet is still held on the sheet clamping level L by the press plate 52 and the support plate 42. In this way, the vacuum forming mold 34
As the vacuum forming die 34 rises vertically, the vacuum forming die 34 comes into contact with the softened sheet 24 (Fig. 11), and when the vacuum forming die 34 finally reaches the sheet clamping level L, the vacuum forming die 34 comes into contact with the softened sheet 24.
As shown in the figure, the support plate 42 is connected to the recessed groove 4 of the vacuum forming mold 34.
0, and the color division boundary portion B of the sheet 24 is completely taken into the recessed groove 40.

In this way, after the vacuum forming mold 34 (the recessed groove 40 of the mold 34) reaches the sheet clamping level L and passes this level, the fluid pressure of the cylinder 48 connected to the presser plate 52 increases as shown in FIG. The piston rod 50 at 52 is relatively raised and retracted into the cylinder 48 . That is, the color division boundary B of the sheet 24 rises together with the vacuum mold 34 while being held by the support plate 42 and the presser plate 52, and therefore, the color division boundary B becomes depressed as the vacuum mold 34 rises. Groove 4
Inconveniences such as bending in the groove or even deviation from the recessed groove 40 are completely avoided. Also, vacuum molding mold 3
4, vacuum suction is performed during the second ascending stroke as shown in FIGS. 11 to 13, for example.

This causes the softened sheet 24 to come into contact with the vacuum mold 34.
Vacuum forming is preferably performed. Then, at the position shown in FIG. 13, that is, when the lower surface of the vacuum forming mold 34 is aligned with approximately Sea 1 - clamping level L, the lifting of the vacuum forming mold 34 and the vacuum suction are stopped, and then the vacuum forming mold 34 is lowered. The molded sea 1-24 is removed from the mold. The state of separation of the color division boundary portion B of the sheet 24 upon completion of vacuum forming is shown in FIG. 14 as an enlarged view of the P portion in FIG. 13.

As described above, according to the molding method and apparatus according to the present invention, the color division boundary portion of the sheet is heated while being held at the sheet clamping level, and then immediately fixed and held at that level, and vacuum forming is performed as it is. As the molding progresses, the color division boundary portion held between the presser plate and the support plate is finally taken into the recessed portion of the vacuum molding die, and the molding is completed. Therefore, as mentioned above, the color division boundaries are not curved or meandered in an arc shape, but are always straight, so molding defects do not occur, and production costs are reduced and stability is maintained. This has many beneficial effects, such as making it possible to achieve high-volume mass production.
