Conventionally, in so-called continuous casting, in which different types of steel are continuously cast, the same mold as in ordinary continuous casting is used, and after the injection of the first molten metal is stopped, the drawing speed of the slab is slowed down. Then, in order to change the steel type without changing the cross-sectional area of the mold by injecting the second molten metal,
There is a mixture of steel types over a long range of the slab, and the product (slab) after drawing is often discarded, resulting in extremely low yields.

そこで本発明はかかる問題点を解消した連続鋳造法とそ

Therefore, the present invention provides a continuous casting method and an apparatus therefor that solves such problems.

以下、本発明の一実施例を図に基づいて説明する。Hereinafter, one embodiment of the present invention will be described based on the drawings.

First, as shown in the solid line in Figure 1, the rain middle mold short piece 1b,
Interval α between 2b and both upper and lower mold short pieces 1a
, 2a, lc, and 2c are in the same state, the first molten metal 9 is injected into this mold to perform continuous casting, and then when the steel type is changed, the first molten metal 9 is injected into the mold. The injection of the first molten metal 9 is stopped, and just before the surface of the first molten metal 9 reaches the lower mold short pieces IC, 2C, the drawing speed of the first slab 10 made of the first molten metal 9 is slowed down, and the spindle 6 is activated to bring the opposed middle mold short pieces 1b and 2b closer together as shown by the imaginary lines in FIG. 1, thereby narrowing the interval α.

At this time, the second molten metal 11 is mixed into the final part of the first slab 10, but since the interval α is narrowed as described above, the mixing amount can be extremely small.

Further, the injected second molten metal 11 is rapidly cooled, and its outer shell portion is integrally connected to the outer shell portion of the first slab 10.

Next, by separating the rain middle mold short pieces 1b and 2b from each other to return the interval α to the original state, and pulling out the first slab 10, the second molten metal 11 will be formed as shown by the solid line in Figure 3. The second slab 12 is also pulled by the first slab 10 and continuously cast.

In this case, after drawing is completed, only the portion 13 where the first and second molten metals 9 and 11 are mixed needs to be disposed of as waste.

As described above, according to the continuous casting method and apparatus for different steel types of the present invention, the interval between the rain middle mold short pieces facing each other is narrowed when changing the steel type. The amount of molten metal mixed can be extremely reduced.

Therefore, the portion of the product that becomes waste material can be significantly reduced compared to the conventional method, and the yield can be improved.
