Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an ink jet recording material excellent in color developing property of an ink and capable of producing a water-resistant recorded image with a high resolution, by incorporating a specified dicarboxylic acid into a base or a coated layer provided on the base. CONSTITUTION:A dicarboxylic acid (preferably having a molecular weight of 1,000-10,000) of the formula is incorporated into a coating liquid preferably in a quanitity of 0.05-2wt%, and the coating liquid is applied onto the base preferably in an amount of 2-30g/m<2> (dry basis), for example, by a roll coater method to obtain the objective recording material. EFFECT:An ink is speedily absorbed into the recording material, recording liquids can be prevented from flowing out or oozing out even when different-colored recording liquids overlap at the same part in a short period of time, and a clear image with a high resolution is provided.

Examples of the method for manufacturing the recording material of the present invention by incorporating the dicarboxylic acid of the formula (■) into the base material include, for example, a method for manufacturing paper using an aqueous solution of luponic acid in the papermaking process; Or, the dicarboxylic acid is added to the impregnating solution.1.
There is a post-treatment method in which the base material is immersed in this, but any method may be used. In these cases, the optimum concentration of the dicarboxylic acid aqueous solution varies depending on the aqueous solution and the viscosity of the solution, but is generally in the range of 0.0.5. ~2% by weight
It is appropriate to use one within the range of . In addition, the appropriate amount of the dicarboxylic acid to be contained in the base material is in the range of 0.05 to 2% by weight based on the base material, and if the amount of the dicarboxylic acid is too large, the absorption of This is not preferable because it reduces the

The degree of bleeding was determined by microscopically measuring the diameter of a printed dot, and expressed as how many times larger it was than the ink drop left. Water resistance was evaluated by immersing the recording material in running water for 3 hours and comparing the optical density (OD) measured using a Macbeth densitometer after immersion with the OD value before immersion. Moreover, the color properties are shown by converting the results measured using a colorimeter ND-1001-DP (manufactured by Nihon Heavy Industries Co., Ltd.) into Munsell values.
