[Detailed explanation of the invention] This invention is a method of creating unit patterns of various shapes using fabric, and sequentially joining them directly or by wrapping them around a backing paper to form various patterns. This is generally called patchwork. This relates to a mold for a unit pattern used in stitchwork.

Patchwork is one of the handicrafts that has been known for a long time.In order to accurately create unit patterns, patchwork is done by using a thin plate mold to lay it on fabric or paper, marking the cutting line along the edge, and then cutting it. The required number of unit patterns are created by repeating the process of cutting or cutting directly with a knife, which are then successively sewn together.

Conventionally, the molds used for this purpose are made of a thin metal or synthetic resin plate whose outer periphery is surrounded by three sets of sides of a predetermined length, and which have the same shape but different sizes, i.e., similar shapes. To make unit patterns of shapes, separate molds must be prepared for each size.

Also, when using a mount, the fabric must be cut larger than the mount to provide a seam allowance. To do this, either use a similar unit pattern, or mark the fabric along the edge of the pattern and cut it out as appropriate. must be cut by eye.

In other words, conventional thin plate molds can only make a single unit pattern, so in order to form a variety of patterns, it is not only necessary to prepare a large number of molds of many different types, but it is also inconvenient to use. There were many.

This proposal consists of a combination of a plurality of mold pieces of similar shapes, and the large mold piece has a structure in which both side edges are the same as the outer peripheral edge of the next large mold piece. Therefore, the above-mentioned drawbacks and inconveniences are eliminated by adopting a structure in which at least the largest mold piece is made in the shape of a frame.

As described above, the present invention consists of a plurality of mold pieces that are similar in shape and at least the largest mold piece is made into a frame shape, and the inner periphery of the large mold piece is the next largest mold piece. Since it is formed to be the same as the outer periphery of the large mold piece, it is possible to create unit patterns of at least two similar sizes with the mold piece, and also to create - frame-shaped unit patterns of at least two sizes. Using the inner and outer edges of the mold pieces, it is possible to cut the backing paper and fabric into accurate similar shapes, making it possible to create a variety of patterns by creating multiple unit patterns of different sizes depending on the set of molds. This eliminates the need to prepare many types of molds, and when using a mount, the necessary seam allowance can be formed accurately.

In addition, if at least some of the mold pieces constituting the molds of several types with different shapes are made so that the length of each side is equal, it is possible to diversify patterns by combining them as appropriate. It has excellent effects.
