Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to control a printing position with high accuracy and contrive to reduce production cost of slits, by a method wherein two printing position signals are obtained by detecting the leading end and the trailing end of a slit by a photo-sensor. CONSTITUTION:A photo-sensor 1 consists of a light-emitting diode 2 and a base- open transistor 3, and generates a pulse output the width of which is equal to the width of a slit. The pulse output is impressed on a monostable multivibrator 4 of a TTL, the leading edge (corresponding to the leading end of the slit) of the pulse output is detected by an input A to the multivibrator 4, while the trailing edge (corresponding to the trailing end of the slit) of the pulse output is detected by an output B to the multivibrator 4, and the multivibrator 4 is triggered respectively. The pulse width Tw of an output Q from the multivibrator 4 is determined by a resistor R and a capacitor C in accordance with the equation: Tw= 0.45CR. When the output Q is utilized as printing position information, two pieces of printing position information can be obtained from a single slit.

[In the conventional printing position control force type, the photosensor 1 as shown in FIG. When the printing position is controlled by moving the slit and reading the slit, one detection signal is obtained for each slit, as shown by P in FIG. 1(A), and this is used as one position signal. However, with this type of print position control method, as the print pitch becomes smaller and the dot spacing becomes narrower, it is necessary to narrow the spacing between the slits for detecting the print position, and the manufacturer's limit is reached. there were.

This pulse output is added to the TTL monomulti 4, and the rising edge of the pulse output (corresponding to the starting edge of the slit) and the falling edge (corresponding to the ending edge of the slit) are detected. This rising is detected by the A input of the monomulti 4, and the rising F is detected by the B input, and the mono multi 4 is I-rigged. The output Q of the monomulti 4 is determined by the resistor R and capacitor C, and its pulse width Tw is determined by Tw = 0.45CR (Fig. 4 (Q)
). If this output Q is used as printing position information, two pieces of printing position information can be obtained from one slit.

As described above, according to the present invention, when the number of slits is the same as in the conventional character control method, twice as much printing position information is recorded, making it possible to control the printing position with high precision, and to improve the printing position compared to the conventional method. Since the same precision of position control can be achieved with half the number of slits, the slits can be manufactured at a lower cost. It goes without saying that the same applies to not only the planar slit but also the disc-shaped slit.
