DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a ship with a bow valve, which has an upper axle tip and a lower bulbous bow that respectively protrude forward in the bow portion, among ships with a bow valve.

Generally, it is well known that wave-making resistance, which is a type of residual resistance, can be reduced by adopting a bow having a spherical valve in the lower part of the bow (spherical bow).

By the way, the shape of such a spherical bow in the early days when it was invented can be seen from, for example, ``Ship Formology and Resistance Edition'' (111, written by Masao Kake, published by Tennensha on January 10, 1952, pages 62-63). The lower part of the bow was simply expanded into a spherical shape, but subsequent theoretical and experimental research revealed that the lower bulbous bow (spherical part) was expanded to the upper part as described at the beginning. Similar to the tip of the shaft, if you make it protrude toward the front of the hull, you can get an even better wave-making resistance effect.
This has been made clear, and now almost all ships with bow bulbs have a shape in which the lower bulbous bow protrudes toward the front of the hull.

Furthermore, this means that the relative position of the bow wave moves forward due to the bulbous bow, producing an effect as if the length of the hull had been extended, that is, as if the Froude number had been reduced. This is easily understood if we consider that this is one of the reasons for the decrease in wave resistance.

However, while conventional vessels of this type have the excellent effects described above, they inevitably have a shape in which the cutting edge line of the bow profile (as viewed from the side of the bow) is greatly curved inward. Unavoidably, a concave gap was formed between the upper shaft tip and the lower bulbous bow in the bow profile, resulting in various inconveniences as described below.

For example, when the ship is stationary or in motion, objects on the sea or in the sea, such as anchors, fishing nets, long lines, or oil fences, can be removed using hoisting equipment such as winches, fairleads, net haulers, line haulers, etc. on the bow deck. When hoisting a salvaged object onto a ship using A situation often arises where the ship is located on the opposite side of the ship from the side where the ship is located.

In such a situation, the bow section will intervene between the object and the hoisting equipment, so the object must pass through the bow concave gap in order to be successfully hoisted onto the ship.

However, depending on the size and condition of the object, the object may become stuck or caught in the concave gap and cannot pass smoothly through the concave gap, making it impossible to retrieve it onto the ship. There were times when I ended up.

Also, even if the object passes through the concave gap safely,
Since the object is being towed in close contact with a relatively wide area of the complex surface of the ship, a strong force of movement resistance acts on the object. This required large-scale retrieval equipment that could handle a much larger weight than the object to be salvaged.

For example, as shown in Figure 2, when repairing or painting the hull surface of a vessel equipped with a bow valve, a small boat C such as a tugboat may damage the vessel with a bow valve without noticing the presence of the bulbous bow under the water surface. When attempting to pass through the bow concave gap, accidents tend to occur in which the bottom, propulsion device d, rudder e, etc., and even the bulbous bow are damaged, which is extremely dangerous.

The present invention consists of 1. The main object of the present invention is to improve a ship equipped with a bow valve as described above to one that does not impair its excellent characteristics and does not cause the various inconveniences mentioned above.

In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides the aforementioned ship with a bow valve, in which a thin member having a width smaller than the average width of the lower bulbous bow is provided from the tip of the upper shaft to the lower bulbous bow. In other words, by providing a thin member extending from the upper shaft tip to the lower bulbous bow, which hardly increases the hull resistance or changes the characteristics of the bulbous bow, as described later, the bow the concave gap in the profile is at least partially closed;
This effectively prevents objects to be salvaged on board the ship and other small boats from entering the bow concave gap, and therefore the occurrence of the various inconveniences mentioned above can be extremely effectively prevented. It was.

However, in the ship with the bow valve according to the present invention having the above configuration, even if it collides with a floating object on the sea, it will not directly hit the bow outer plate but will first hit the thin member, so in most cases In this case, only the thin member is damaged, and its repair is therefore extremely easy, quick and inexpensive.

Furthermore, just to be sure, the increase in residual resistance due to the provision of the thin member can be completely ignored even in the case of the plate-like body f closing the entire concave gap, as shown in FIG. It is clear that the provision of a thin member does not impair the fundamental advantages of the bulbous bow.

To summarize and paraphrase what has been said above, the present invention breaks down the conventional wisdom in ship design that ships with bow pulp necessarily have a concave gap in the bow profile, and as a result, Accordingly, it has been possible to provide a new ship with a bow valve having a bow shape in which the concave gap in the bow profile is at least partially closed, and which exhibits various excellent effects.

4 and 5 show a first embodiment of the present invention, in which substantially the entire concave gap in side view is formed between the upper axle tip 2 and the lower bulbous bow 3 that respectively protrude forward in the bow portion 1. In the closed state, a thin plate-shaped body 4a as a thin member 4 (hereinafter simply referred to as thin member 4) having a width smaller than the average width of the bulbous bow 3 is inserted from the upper shaft tip 2. It is arranged and fixed over the lower bulbous bow 3 and on the longitudinal centerline X of the hull.

Note that the front end portion of the horizontal cross section of the plate-like body 4a is formed into a substantially semicircular smooth curve, so that an object hoisting member such as a rope can be tightly attached to the front edge of the plate-like body 4a. Care should be taken to prevent damage when moving.

6 and 7 show a second embodiment of the present invention, in which the thin member 4 is a substantially airfoil-shaped member having a leading edge at the front end, instead of the plate-like member 4a in the first embodiment. A thin plate-like body 4b having a horizontal cross section is employed.

The airfoil-shaped cross-section plate-like body 4b is a small piece arranged and fixed in a state that partially closes a concave gap in a side view of the bow portion 1, but it prevents other objects from entering the concave gap. It is sufficient to prevent jamming, and since it is small, it has the advantage that the increase in frictional resistance due to its provision can be kept extremely small.
