Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the cooling effect by providing a cylinder while directing rearward at the rear portion of crank case of power unit for scooter type automatic tri-cycle thereby facilitating collision of wind flowing below the chassis against the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:Single steering front wheel and two driving rear wheels RW are provided, while a power unit 21 is provided between both wheels RW where the rear wheel RW and the upper face of power unit 21 are covered with a cover member 50. The crank case 22 and cylinder 23 of power unit 21 are arranged in front and rear of chassis respectively where the cylinder 23 is arranged while directing rearward of chassis. The upper space of power unit 21 covered with the cover unit 50 is partitioned back and fro by means of a steel partitioner 60 where auxiliary suction units 30 are provided in the front space while an exhaust muffler 40 is provided in the rear space. The auxiliary suction units 30 are provided with an air-cleaner 31 and carburetor 37.

In this type of tricycle, the intake air temperature rises due to the arrangement of the cylinder, which is a high-temperature heating element housed within the cover, the exhaust silencer, and intake auxiliary equipment such as the carburetor and air cleaner. In addition, there is a risk that the cylinder and exhaust muffler may be difficult to receive enough wind vibrations. Also, there is a part of the cover that covers the upper part of the power unit. Hot air is trapped in a, and the intake auxiliary equipment and cover parts are easily affected by the heat.

Also, for the rear vehicle body, the connection mechanism 1 is connected to the main frame 3.
They are connected via 02. This coupling mechanism 10 consists of joint shafts 11 and 12 that are pivotally supported on the main frame 3 so as to be able to swing vertically.
It is composed of a joint case 13 that rotatably supports the joint case 13, and a bracket 13α that connects the joint case 13 to a crankcase (described later) (refer to FIGS. 1 to 3)0 and a rear cushion 15. Furthermore, the crankcase 22 of the power unit 21 is located on the front side of the vehicle body with respect to the cylinder 23, and the bracket of the joint case 13 is connected to the bracket of the joint case 13 by means of a stay 22 (three L) screws 14 protruding from the front part thereof. The cylinder 23 is connected to the crankcase 2.
It is located on the rear side of the vehicle compared to No. 2, and is arranged in an inclined position facing toward the rear of the vehicle. This tilted attitude means that the angle θ between the central axis C of the cylinder B and the horizontal line H is relatively small. The crankcase 722 and the cylinder 23 are sized and shaped to fit within the outline of the stay 22 (excluding a part of the l, when viewed from the side of the vehicle @ RW 17) (Fig. 3). reference).

This embodiment is constructed as described above, and when the engine is running, outside air is introduced into the intake chamber A through the narrow 71 portions such as around the outside air introduction window 51, the area around the partition plate 330, or around the duct 5.
ait-, the air is inhaled from the suction duct 32a of the air cleaner 31. During this time, dust generated during driving, water droplets G, partition wall plate 33, partition wall 60, side wall 61,
The load on the air cleaner 3J is reduced because the cylinder 2:3 is removed by collision with the duct 25, etc. Also, the cylinder 2:3 is connected to the shroud 26 by passing through the duct 25.
The air introduced into the interior is forcedly cooled and the hot air flows through opening 2.
6 (is discharged downward from the cylinder 23. Then, a part of the hot air emitted from the cylinder 23 rises, and along with the hot air emitted from the exhaust silencer 40, passes through the duct 64 to a part of the cover. It is discharged to the outside of vi50.In this way,
The hot air emanating from the cylinder 23 and the exhaust silencer 40 does not affect the intake auxiliary equipment 30 in the intake chamber A, or the resin cover member 50, and blows downward and into the cover part 50. It is extremely effective because it emits water upwards.

Furthermore, the center of gravity of the power unit 210 is reduced as much as possible by arranging the engine cylinder 23 at the rear of the crankcase 22 (on the rear side of the vehicle body) in an inclined position pointing toward the rear of the vehicle body. There is also the advantage that the overall height of the rear vehicle body 20 is reduced.

As is clear from the above description of the embodiments, the present invention has a front wheel for steering and two rear axles for driving, and a power unit is disposed between the two rear wheels for driving. In a vehicle covered with Because the exhaust silencer is installed, the cylinder, which is a high-temperature heating element, is located at the bottom of the rear end of the garage, making it easy to catch the wind flowing below the car body, which has a large cooling effect. is located on the front side away from the cylinder, and the adjacent 1-filter exhaust muffler is at a lower temperature than the cylinder, so it is less likely to be affected by heat.
