Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain W-cerium oxide powder having excellent texture as an electrode material, arc firing characteristic and resistance to consumption by mixing a Ce compd. in the form of a soln. with metallic W powder, then heating the powder mixture in a prescribed temp. range in an H2 atmosphere to decompose the same and dispersing finely and uniformly cerium oxide in W. CONSTITUTION:An aq. Ce compd. (e.g.; cerium nitrate) soln. is added and mixed to and with metallic W powder and the mixture is evaporated to dryness and thereafter the mixture is heated to 300-500 deg.C in an H2 atmosphere to decompose the Ce compd. The Ce compd. after the decomposition by heating is in succession subjected to a secondary reduction at 900-1,100 deg.C and the intended W-cerium oxide powder is obtd. The Ce compd. is a soln. in a mixing stage according to such process for manufacturing the powder by wet type doping and therefore said soln. sticks to the surface of the W particles and if the mixture is made into powder, the powder mixed extremely finely and uniformly with the cerium oxide particles is obtd.

酸化セリウム粉末の製造法。 2セリウム化合物が、硝酸第1セリウムである特許請求
の範囲第1項記載のタングステン−酸化セリウム粉末の
製造法。 3セリウム化合物が、硫酸セリウムである特許請求の範
囲第1項記載のタングステン−酸化セリウム粉末の製造
法。
