Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔発明の利用分野〕 本発明は液晶表示装置に係り、特にグラフィック、自動
車用に好適な液晶表示素子とチップオンとピン付きを組
み合わせた液晶表示装置に関する。
〔従来技術〕
従来のグラフィック液晶表示素子は、外部回路との接続
回路が多く、信頼性に問題があり、液晶表示パネル、ゼ
ブラコネクタ−、プリント基板、正面固定パネルなどを
組み合わせてモジュール化していたので、部品構成も複
雑であった。
〔発明の目的〕
本発明の目的は、外部回路との接続を容易、ζこするこ
とによって、信頼性を向上させ、また部品数を減らし、
製造を容易にすることによって製品をコンパクト化し、
コストを下げることができる液晶表示装置を提供するこ
とにある。
〔発明の概要〕
本発明は、半導体ＬＳＩのチップを基板上に接着し、外
部回路との接続をピン付きとしたことを特徴とする。
〔発明の実施例〕
本発明の一実施例を図ζこより説明する。液晶表示素子
１−の基板２．３上に半導体Ｌ８Ｉ４．５を接続し、か
つ外部回路（図示せず）との接続のためｌこ、基板２．
３の端面よりピン６を出している構造をとる。前記ＬＳ
Ｉ４は表示部７ζこ対して走査側駆動用のＬＳＩで、前
記ＬＳＩ５は表示部７ｆこ対しで信号側駆動用のＬＳＩ
を示している。このＬＳＩ４．５は、表示内容、表示量
とによって数は異なる。
〔発明の効果〕
液晶表示素子の基板上にＬＳＩを半田付けなどの手段で
接着してなるので、信頼性を向上させ、製品をコンパク
ト化できる。また外部回路との接続はピンをこよるので
、信頼性が高く、かつ接続が容易である。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 半導体ＬＳＩのチップを基板上に半田付けなどの手段で
    接着し、外部回路との接続を容易にするために、ピン付
    きとしたことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
