Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the pressure receiving area of the thrust forces acting upon bearing boxes through work rolls and to increase shifting length by using rotatable blocks in place of semicircular liners at the preceding ends of the bearing boxes mounted with work rolls. CONSTITUTION:Pillow blocks 5 are contained via a pins 6 in bearing boxes 3, 4 holding the work rolls 1, 2 contained in housing 12. On the other hand, brackets 13 hold clamps 10 and cylinders 11 via pins 9 and are held in the housing 12. If the rods of cylinders 11 are moved to the head side in the case of shifting the roll to the state of 2, the clamps 10 shift the boxes 3 to the position 4 via the pins 6 while grasping clamps 7 and blocks 5 via the pins 9. Since the blocks 5 are in contact with the clamps 7, 10 on planes, the thrust force per unit area is decreased. Since the blocks 5 are supported by means of the pins 6, longer shift length is taken.

ー11を保持し、ハウジング12に保持されている。又
、クランプ7及びシリンダー8はボルト及びブラケット
により、クランプ10に保持されている。
