Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the intrusion of water into the suction opening of an air cleaner from under the vehicle body. CONSTITUTION:Air introduced into an air cleaner 18 is at first passed through interstices of a front grille 23, and passing through the clearance between a head lamp 12 and the opening 13a of a front bolster 13, is then drawn into the air cleaner 18 from its suction opening 20. Water splashed from tires is blocked by a first shield plate 16, while water splashed from the tires toward the front portion of the front bolster 13 is blocked by a second shield 22. Therefore, it is enabled to prevent intrusion of water into a space 17 from the opening 13a of the front bolster 13.

The intake port of the air cleaner is arranged in the space between the front of the vehicle and the front wheels. This allows the engine to cool down by taking in comparatively cold air from the front of the vehicle from the air cleaner.
This is to increase air filling efficiency and improve engine performance.

Incidentally, a water ingress prevention device is provided around the suction port of this air cleaner to prevent water from entering the air cleaner. Conventional examples of ζO prevention cladding are shown in Figures 1 and 2.
As shown in the figure. Conventionally, the suction duct 2 of the air cleaner 1 is surrounded by two splash boards 3 and 4 around and below it. A U-shaped splash board 3 surrounding the suction duct 12 is fixed to the lower surface of the floor panel 5, and is attached to the suction duct 2.
A splash board 4 covering the lower part is fixed to a frame 6. 1 is the first cross member.

However, in the case of the conventional device, the intake section for the outside air sucked into the air cleaner 1 is provided on the bottom side, and the intake port of the air cleaner 1 itself is located at a low position. This rounding,
If you drive in deep water when the roadway is covered with water, the water pushed forward by the tires will make the water level in front of the tires even louder, making it easier for water to enter the air cleaner. Nine, there is a risk that water may enter the air cleaner due to tire splash, and it is difficult to completely prevent water from entering the air cleaner.

The present invention has been made in consideration of the above-mentioned situation, and is made by bending the front end of the floor panel upward to make the intake inlet high and panoramic. A wrinkled wall is installed in the space with an opening, and the area within Km
The purpose of the present invention is to solve the problems of the conventional method by introducing the air cleaner O inlet from the Ii side and supplying outside air to the air cleaner from the outside air intake in front of the space.

A space with an opening on the lower surface is formed by this. Then, a space 1T is formed by closing the lower surface of the opening with a first shield blade 16 serving as a partition plate that partitions the inside of the space from the outside. Intake duct 1 of air cleaner 18
The intake port 20 of 9 projects into the space 17 via the first shield plate 16. 21 is an elastic member that absorbs vibrations between the first shield plate 16 and the suction duct 1s. Further, the front bolster 13 is formed with an enlarged opening for mounting a headlamp, and outside air is introduced into the space 17 through the gap between the headlamp 12 and the opening 13m. Below the headlamp 12, a second shield plate 22 for preventing splash from tires is fixed to a 74-point bolster 18. 23
70 is a front grill, 24 is a frame, and 25 is an air cleaner hose.

In this configuration, the air sucked into the air cleaner 18 passes through the gap between the front grille 23, is introduced into the space 17 through the gap between the headlamp 12 and the opening 13m of the front bolster 13, and is sucked into the air cleaner 11mK via the intake port 20. Ru. Splash from the tires is blocked by the first shield plate 16 and is reflected as shown by the arrow in FIG. In addition, since the splash toward the front portion of the front bolster 13 is also blocked by the second shield plate 22, almost no moisture enters into the space IT from the opening 13a of the front bolster 13.

Note that the intake of outside air is not limited to that of this embodiment, and a gap may be provided between the upper end of the 70-ton bolster and the floor panel, or an opening for outside air intake may be formed separately. It's okay. Further, in this embodiment, a front bolster, a floor member, a step sill inner, etc. are used to form a space surrounding the air cleaner suction port, but the components of the space are not limited to these.

As described above, according to the present invention, a space is provided below the front end of the 7o pump panel, and the position of the space is raised by bending the front end of the panel in the floor upwards, and the air cleaner is sucked into this space. Since the opening is inserted to supply outside air to the air cleaner, even if the roadway is submerged in water, water can be prevented from entering from below the vehicle. Furthermore, since the space is located high, it is difficult for water to enter from the outside air intake.
