Traditionally, starchy materials that could be treated as waste, such as old rice or wheat, were not processed into feed because they had to undergo rather expensive processing to turn them into feed11
There was a lot of power to be discarded.

1, Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 52-43678 discloses that crushed rice straw is dried with high-temperature hot air, made into a fine powder using a powder machine, and mixed with sake lees, beer lees, and soy sauce lees at the same mixing ratio. There is a disclosure of feed that is solidified into granules with a diameter of 5 to 10 mm, but this patent application describes the process of crushing, drying, and re-grinding the raw material rice straw, which is extremely labor-intensive and expensive. In addition to being expensive, it also had disadvantages such as poor nutrition and balance because it did not contain starch.

In this invention, so-called food waste containing a large amount of starch, such as old rice or wheat, can be processed into feed at no cost and can be easily processed to maintain a nutritional balance. The present invention aims to provide a method for processing food waste with good starch content into animal feed.

Old rice and shochu residue have approximately the same volume, or are mixed with a slightly larger amount of shochu residue. The moisture contained in the squeezed lees is sufficiently absorbed, and the shochu squeezed lees itself becomes dehydrated by the moisture contained in the squeezed dregs, and the old rice becomes mushy and soft. The shochu residue is dissolved into this weakened old rice.

Under these conditions, by heating the rice to high temperatures under high pressure conditions, the moisture evaporates in a short period of time, and the old rice, which has turned into a porridge, and the shochu dregs that are part of it are combined together. The pellets are then turned into pellets, which can be used as feed.

In other words, in a mocha kettle, there is 1 to 1.2 rr of squeezed shochu based on 1 m3 of ancient rice. The old rice is stored in a mixed state, and left for 2 to 3 days to make the old rice porridge, which combines the old rice with the squeezed shochu dregs. This promotes the evaporation of moisture.

Here, the starch in the pelleted feed is gelatinized, which makes it easy to absorb water and serves as a high-quality binder, which prevents the dried shochu residue from falling off the pellets.

In the embodiments of this invention, ancient rice has been particularly described, but other starchy foods other than ancient rice, such as barley, can also be used in the same way, and these starchy foods such as ancient rice and barley can be disposed of. As for starch foods, they absorb a large amount of water when they are pregelatinized, and in this invention, as long as the water absorption effect accompanying the pregelatinization of such starchy foods can be utilized, ancient rice, barley, etc. Of course, it is not limited to.

According to this invention, shochu residue is mixed into starchy food waste such as ancient rice or wheat in an amount equal to or slightly larger than the waste, and then left to stand for several days. The moisture content of the waste is absorbed into the waste, and the waste is turned into porridge. The waste and shavings are fused into a homogenized mixture, eliminating the need for wasteful efforts such as pulverizing and drying the raw material waste. It can be omitted completely, reducing labor costs, and by processing this mixture under high temperature and high pressure conditions, the moisture in the shochu residue is dehydrated due to the water absorption effect caused by the gelatinization of starch, and it is also possible to make starchy foods. The waste can be turned into button porridge and easily pelletized, and the dehydrated shochu residue contains high protein with gluten intact, making it easy to turn it into high-protein feed. The pellets have a good nutritional balance, can use inexpensive starchy food waste such as old rice or wheat, and can be turned into feed at a low cost. Because it has suitable water absorption properties, it acts as a suitable binder and prevents the dried shochu residue from falling apart from the pellets.
