Conventional automotive interior materials, such as instrument pads,
Glove box lids, console boxes, etc. were made by injecting and foaming semi-rigid urethane foam into the recesses of the skin formed into a concave shape using semi-rigid PVC resin sheets.

There are various difficulties in forming the skin of such a skinned foam molded product into an undercut shape.

(1)真空成形後の表皮が金型から脱型しにくい。(1) The skin after vacuum forming is difficult to remove from the mold.

(2)アンダーカット部における真空吸引力不足による
形状不良が発生し易い。
(2) Shape defects are likely to occur due to insufficient vacuum suction force at the undercut portion.

In other words, when vacuum forming the skin into a concave shape from a thermoplastic resin sheet, it is molded into a mold shape that has grooves that go inward at a gentle angle on the ridge lines of the concave part and the buckwheat part, and after demolding, this is placed in a foaming mold. The method is characterized in that after filling the groove portion with the foam while maintaining the shape of the final product, the buckwheat portion is cut off.

本発明で用いられる熱可塑性樹脂シートの例としては、
半硬質塩ビシート、ABS樹脂シート等が挙げられる。
