Description

【考案の詳細な説明】 本考案は、カートン容器のシール部分を溶着シールする
超音波シール装置の改良に関するものである。
近年、ジュース、清酒等の浸透性の強い液体を対象にし
、構成が、ポリエチレン、板紙、ポリエチレン、アルミ
箔、ポリエチレンの5層からなる材料を用いたカートン
容器が市場に出廻っているが、該材料のうち、内外面の
ポリエチレンは、サーモプラスチック材料で、十分溶融
する熱を加えられ、その後冷却されることによって溶着
する性質をもっており、このようなカートン容器のシー
ル部分の溶着シールには第1図に示すような超音波シー
ル装置が用いられている。
第1図において、1は振動ホーンで、その先端部にはカ
ートン容器との接触面2が形成され超音波振動子3に連
結されており、該超音波振動子3により約20000ヘ
ルツの周波数で振動されるようになっている。
4はアンビルで、その先端部にはカートン容器との接触
面5が形成され、エアシリンダ6により矢印17方向へ
移動されるようになっている。
超音波振動子3及びエアシリンダ6は図示されていない
機体本体に取付けられていて、カートン容器保持枠7及
び8を有する一対のチェーンコンベア9及び10により
、液体が充填され、端部閉込み部分が閉込まれたカート
ン容器11が、所定の位置へ送られてくると、図示され
ていない制御装置の指令により、エアシリンダ6が作動
し、カートン容器11のシール部分12を振動ホーン1
の接触面2と、アンビル4の接触面5との間に適当な圧
力をかけてはさみ込み、ついで、振動ホーン1が超音波
振動子3によって所要時間振動し、シール部分12のポ
リエチレンを溶融する。
振動ホーン1は所要時間振動した後停止するが、上記し
た圧力でシール部分12を所要時間はさみ込んだままに
しておくと、溶融したポリエチレンは冷却硬化し、溶着
シールされる。
そして溶着シールが終了すると、アンビル4はエアシリ
ンダ6の作動により後退させられ、続いてカートン容器
11は次工程へ送られる。
なお上記構成においては、アンビル4を移動できるよう
にしているが、振動ホーン1を移動するようにしてもよ
く、又、両方を移動するようにしてもよい。
以上のような超音波シール装置においては、従来、第2
図及び第3図に示すように振動ホーン1の接触面2又は
アンビル4の接触面5の少なくとも一方(本例ではアン
ビル4の接触面5)の接触面にカートン容器11のシー
ル部分12の肉厚の変動に対応するように四部5a及び
5bを設け、シール部分12全面を同時に加圧して超音
波振動を受けたとき発生する熱量が同等となるようにす
ることが知られている。
これは、この種のカートン容器11は成形時第4図に示
すようにフラップ13をパネル内面に折り込で溶着シー
ルしており、さらにこのカートン容器の端部を閉込んで
シール部分12を形成すると第5図に示すように、4枚
重ねの部分Aと、6枚重ねの部分Bと、5枚重ねの部分
Cとが生じて、肉厚が変動し、例えばA部分が丁度良好
なシール状態となるように圧力をかけてはさむと、B部
分及びC部分は過度の熱エネルギーを受けて焦げが発生
するので、これを防止するためである。
しかし、上記したように振動ホーン又はアンビルの接触
面に四部を設けで、同等の発熱作用を受けるようにして
も、カートン容器11は、その成形特、上記のように、
予めフラップ13をパネルの内面に折込んで溶着シール
しているので、この際第6図に示すようにフラップ付近
14のポリエチレンが一旦溶融して流れ、ポリ手チレン
の層が薄くなると共、に発熱作用を受けて、ポリエチレ
ンが劣化した変質部分となっているため、シール部分1
2を溶着シールするとき、この部分の熱量が不足ぎみと
なり、シールが不充分となる傾向があり、その結果、シ
ール不良部から浸透性の強い中味の液体が漏洩し、カビ
の発生等の問題点があった。
本考案は上記した点に鑑み提案されたものでカートン容
器のシール部分を溶着シールする超音波シール装置にお
いて、前記カートン容器のシール部分におけるカートン
容器成形時の溶着シールによる変質部分に対応するアン
ビル又はホーンの少なくともブ方の接触面に適当な幅と
高さをもつ突起部を設けたことを特徴とし、その目的と
するところはカートン容器のシール部分の゛シール性を
向上させることのできるカートン容器の超音波シール装
置を提供しようとするものである。
本考案は上記したように構成されているため、アンビル
とホーンとによりシール部分をはさみ込んだ際、変質部
分は突起部により他の部分より僅かに強く加圧され、ホ
ーンの振動時僅かに過熱気味に発熱作用を受ける。
従って、確実に溶融されてポリエチレンの劣化を補うこ
とができるので、シール性を向上させることができる。
以下本考案の一実施例を第7図に基づいて説明する。
21は振動ホーン、22は振動ホーン21の先端接触面
、23はアンビル、24はアンビル23の先端接触面で
あり、アンビル23の接触面24には従来のものと同様
カートン容器25のシール部分26の肉厚の変動に対応
する凹部24 a 、24 bが設けられている。
一方ホーン21の接触面22には、シール部分26の変
質部分27、すなわちカートン容器25の成形特、予め
パネル内面に溶着シールされたフラップ28付近と対応
する位置に幅L、高さHの突起部22 aが設けられて
いる。
この突起部22 aの幅及び高さは本実施例ではL半1
0 mm、 H−:0.02乃至0.2mmで゛あり、
アンビル23の凹部24 aと幅方向で長さl(約2乃
至5mm)だけラップしている。
上記構成において第7図はホーン21とアンビル23が
離れた位置にありカートン容器25が、所定位置に送ら
れてきて停止すると、アンビル23又はホーン21の少
なくとも一方が移動してシール部分26をはさみ、適当
な圧力で加圧し、ついでホーン21の超音波振動を受け
てシール部分26は発熱する。
この際、シール部分26の変質部分27は突起部22
aとアンビル23とによりはさまれて、他の部分より僅
かに強く加圧され、このため、他の部分より僅かに過熱
気味に発熱作用を受けるので、ポリエチレンの劣化を補
い、確実に溶着シールされてシール不良の発生を防止す
ることができる。
なお、突起部22 aの幅、高さは、カートン容器の大
きさ等により適当な値に設定されるものとする。
また、上記実施例ではホーン21の接触面22に突起部
22 aを設けているがアンビル23の接触面24に同
様の突起部を設けても上記実施例と同様の効果を得るこ
とができることはもちろんである。

    【実用新案登録請求の範囲】
  1. カートン容器のシール部分を溶着シールする超音波シー
    ル装置において、前記カートン容器のシール部分におけ
    るカートン容器成形時の溶着シールによる変質部分に対
    応するアンビル又はホーンの少なくとも一方の接触面に
    適当な幅と高さをもつ突起部を設けたことを特徴とする
    カートン容器の超音波シール装置。
