The conventional method for attaching treads to the side panels of stairs is as shown in Figures 1(a) and (b).
This is a method in which the end of the footboard 2 is fitted into a groove-like recess 1a formed in the side plate 1. However, in this method, the recess 1
Since the opening area of a must be made slightly larger than the cross-sectional area of the insertion end of the tread plate 2, a gap 3 is created at the fitting part between the side plate and the tread plate, and this gap will be removed over time due to drying shrinkage of the member. The problem was that it grew larger over time. If there is a gap between the fitting portions of the two, the friction between the bottom of the groove-like recess of the side plate 1 and the end surface of the footboard 2 will cause stomping, squeaking, etc., which will be extremely unpleasant when walking. Furthermore, if the two are tightly fitted to prevent the above-mentioned gap, not only will it be extremely difficult to insert the tread plate during construction, but the tread plate will be covered with vinyl chloride decoration, etc. If this is the case, there is a high risk that peeling wrinkles 42 will occur in the decorative surface layer 4, as shown in FIG.

A joining structure for building materials according to the present invention is a joining structure in which both members are joined by fitting an end of a second member into a recess provided in a first member, and the insertion of the second member It is characterized by providing a thin groove extending inward from the end surface along the insertion direction at the end (and also allowing a liquid to swell the second member to exist in the fitting portion of both members). Hereinafter, embodiments will be described in detail based on the accompanying drawings.

), the insertion end 2aK of the footboard 2 has a plurality of (three in the illustrated example) narrow grooves 5 arranged in parallel from the end surface thereof inward along the insertion direction (arrow X direction). ing. From the viewpoint of strength, the depth L of the narrow groove 5 is preferably 50 mm or less, and the range in which the thin groove #15 is provided is preferably 2/3 or less of the thickness T of the tread plate 2. . Further, although it is practically preferable that the number of narrow grooves 5 is 3 as shown in the illustrated example, it may be 1 or 2, and may be 4 or more in some cases. Note that it is preferable to provide the narrow groove 5 on the upper surface side of the footboard 2 in terms of strength. The narrow groove 5 may be as thin as a cut line made by a saw.

The insertion end 2aK of the footboard 2 is coated with a liquid 6, which acts to swell the footboard 2 itself, as shown by the dotted line in the figure. Examples of this liquid include, but are not limited to, evaporated polyethylene glycol (molecules of 11,000 or less) and ethylene glycol. Any liquid may be used as long as it swells 2 appropriately.

蒸発しにくいものであることが望まれる。It is desirable that the material is resistant to evaporation.

The insertion end 2a of the footboard 2, on which the MUI groove 5 has been formed and the liquid 6 has been applied in this way, is inserted into the groove-like recess 1a of the side plate 1, as shown in FIG. 3(b). In this case, the insertion end 2a is pressed so as to crush the narrow groove 5, and the insertion can be made with the thickness of that part reduced, so the opening area of the recess 1a can be kept relatively small. I can do it. During this insertion, the liquid 6 acts as an i4 lubricant to facilitate the insertion operation. After inserting the insertion end 2a of the footboard 2 into the recess 1a of the side plate 1, the narrow groove 5 opens and the thickness of the insertion end 2a increases, resulting in a tight fit. In this state, the liquid 6 is applied to the footboard 2.
Since the end of the wood is constantly swollen, the fit between the two parts is extremely tight, and the joint strength is maintained at a high level. Also,
Since the fitting part is in a wet state, no squeaks or stomping will occur even if friction occurs. Note that the liquid 6 may be applied to the inner surface of the recess 1a of the side plate 1 prior to insertion.

As is clear from the above explanation, the joint structure for building materials according to the present invention is easy to join, has high joint strength, and is highly practical because it does not cause creaks, trampling, etc. be. Although the above explanation has been made using the manufacture of wooden stairs as an example, it is clear that this joining structure can be applied to joining other members.
