However, in this method, when the caulking material is filled into the joint groove, the caulking material adheres to both the left and right side surfaces and the bottom surface, so that biased stress is generated in the caulking material at the bottom of the joint groove.

In order to eliminate these drawbacks, a band-shaped sponge or the like, which is a material that does not adhere to the caulking material, is used at the bottom of the joint groove 2, with the main purpose of preventing the generation of biased stress on the caulking material 3, before filling with the caulking material. Some are used in a way that they can be pushed in.

In this case, the caulking material 3 is bonded to both left and right sides 2A and 2A' of the joint groove 2, and since both bonding areas are the same, no biased stress is generated, and the above-mentioned drawbacks are eliminated.

The present invention was developed in order to solve the above-mentioned conventional problems, and its gist is to form a joint groove in a joint of a precast concrete waterway, etc., and to insert back-up material into the joint groove. Next, in the waterproof joint filled with caulking material, the back-up material is made of plastic or the like and has a deformable U-shape in cross section, and both legs are pushed against the bottom of the joint groove from the opening side. This back-up material for joints is characterized in that the back-up material is inserted until it hits the joint, and then the upper part of the back-up material is filled with caulking material.

Hereinafter, the present invention will be explained in detail with reference to the embodiments shown in FIGS. 1 to 3.
When forming a waterway by connecting precast concrete waterway members 1 and 1 as shown in the figure, the third
As shown in Figure A, joint grooves 2, 2A, and 2B are formed at the joint of both water channels 1, and caulking material 3 is filled in the joint grooves 2. In order to prevent uneven stress from occurring in the material 3, before filling the caulking material 3, a U-shaped cross section as shown in Fig. 2 (A in the same figure) is prepared.
Alternatively, a deformable back-up material 5 made of plastic or the like having a cross-sectional shape (FIG. 2B) is inserted into the joint groove 2. That is, as shown in Figure 3A,
From the opening side of the back up material 5, both legs 5B,

Therefore, the caulking material 3 adheres to the left and right sides 2A, 2A' of the joint groove 2 with the same bonding area, and does not adhere to the bottom surface, that is, the top surface 5A of the back-up material 5, so that the caulking material 3 has no biased stress. Does not occur.

However, a level difference occurs at the joint between the connecting water channels 1, 1, and this level difference changes the adhesion area on both the left and right sides of the joint groove 2, and it may not be possible to secure even the minimum adhesion area on one side. In such a case, as shown in FIG.

As a result, the backup material 5 is elastically deformed and fits into the joint groove 2, and the left and right adhesion areas 2A-1 and 2A'-1 above the upper surface 5A form equal adhesion areas, and the minimum The limited adhesion area can be completely secured.

As described above, the back-up material for joints according to the present invention is used for waterproof joints in which a joint groove is formed in a joint of a precast concrete waterway, etc., and the joint groove is filled with a back-up material and then a caulking material. The back-up material is made of plastic or the like and has a deformable U-shaped cross section, and is inserted into the groove from the opening side, and the upper part of the back-up material is filled with caulking material. Because of this structure, even if there is a level difference at the joint when the waterway is installed, the U-shaped backup material deforms according to the level difference, ensuring the same adhesive area on both left and right sides, and the waterproof function of the joint part. This has the effect of ensuring a sufficient amount of
