Claims (1)

    【実用新案登録請求の範囲】
  1. エンジンの負荷に応じて燃料の供給が遮断され作動を休
    止する休止側気筒と、常時燃料が供給され作動を継続す
    る稼動側気筒とを備え、これら休止側気筒と稼動側気筒
    とに対応して吸気通路を冷中から分岐し、同じく排気通
    路を途中まで分岐し、休止側吸気通路に前記作動体止時
    に閉じる新気遮断弁と、合流する排気通路に排気処理装
    置とを設け、この排気処理装置を介した排気の一部を前
    記作動体止時に休止側気筒に導く排気還流通路を設けた
    多気筒エンジンにおいて、排気処理装置に流入前の排気
    の濃薄を検知する手段を設け、この検出信号に基づき排
    気が濃いときとその直後の所定時間には、全気筒とも作
    動して運転する手段を設けたことを特徴とする気筒数制
    御エンジン。
